On Being an Old Geriatric Lymie... poem by Lyme Poet MJ
MY LIFE... at 3/4 of a Century old is a merry-go-round bold.
Days are full, filling the shoes of a cashier-clerk at my neighborhood PowerMart where I work.
Once upon a time... I was a free-enterpise entrepreneur owning my own businesses thru the evolving decades.
Some succeeded, some failed. I don't sit here crying and wailing about long-gone yesteryears!
My nights and weekends are full of rhymes that pour into me to promote R non-profit charities helping children and Families! (Could it be a source "divine", or am I just an old guy writing ✍️ "blind"?)
I pack my anti-Lyme, anti-malarial, and anti-borrelia microbial herbal tinctures, my vitamins and minerals, and other regimen essentials to work with me.
Sometimes, there are "snickers" from a co-worker or two, but they don't comprehend what I've survived thru. They are not being mean... just unaware of our healing "scene".
LIKE... I try to tell you kind readers out there, maybe you can't understand where I'm "at"... but perhaps some awful day when tick-carried infections land in your lap, you might remember what I say...
I am blessed, and that is a fact... Jack! LYME is not a death sentence. KEEP ON TRUCKIN'... Find a way! ❤️ to all, Michael J

I enjoyed that especially the 70's references.

Kinda tough to read and to realize how much this poet has sunffered and still bears.
Amazing how he retains his optimism even with unkind co-workers.
Well done, Michael J.!
And thanks, Hiker, for sharing this.
