Welcome to the first edition of the 2026 exercise thread! [woohoo]

Here we encourage each other to get up and move about.

Perhaps you are walking, doing physical therapy, lifting weights, cleaning, shopping, baking etc.

We count all movement. So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day.

Have a blessed first full week of 2026! [hi]

Two of the boys went to church and then were invited to someone's home for lunch.

The rest of us watched church online.

Had a relaxing day at home.

Did the evening chores. All was routine tonight.

Though I did notice the naughty goat wasn't putting full weight on her one back foot.... was it just because she was standing out in the snow?? or had she caught it in the hayrack again??

Want to look through some of the quilt magazines tonight that my daughter gave me for Christmas. Her husband's grandma was downsizing nd had a stack of them.

I found a pattern for a scotty dog patch for a child's quilt. That would be cute to make!

Supper will be leftovers.

I watched my church service online and then listened to the sermon from the National Cathedral.

Ran a load of laundry.

Called mom.

Took a nap after lunch.

I took down the rest of the Xmas decorations and carted them to the basement closet.

Read and grounded.

Am now watching the Bears-Lions NFL game.

Just ordered a gluten free pizza from the local pizzeria and will pick it up soon. Making a tossed salad to go with it.

Then reading and maybe a chick flick.

Hi everyone! I gabbed on the phone way too long today!

Other than that just rested and actually took out a serving of frozen turkey, dressing and gravy and nuked it around 4:00.

Ate some chocolates and sad to say that might be my dinner.

My side was not hurting as bad today so am very grateful for that.

See you guys tomorrow!

I did my bike warmup and my knee and feet exercises.

Then rode the exercise bike for 25 more minutes.

I can tell I am still not quite over the EBV as I took an hour nap after lunch.

Read and grounded.

Called mom.

Took the recycling bin and garbage bin to the curb.

I am grilling turkey burgers for dinner and making a spinach salad topped with snap peas, carrots and blackberries.

Then some TV and reading.

I felt better today so went and bought some much needed produce and almond milk.

Seeing my GP tomorrow for the dizziness from either BPPV or the nuclear imaging test last Monday.

Thawed out chicken wings and had organic carrots with hummus for dinner.

See you all tomorrow!

Baking day. Back to the full amounts again.

Also got all the laundry washed and dried. Most of it is still waiting to be folded & put away.

When I did chores, the escaped chicken was in the guinea pen. So I managed to catch her after several go-rounds in the pen. Clipped her wing before I put her back in the chicken pen.

Discovered a bunch of guineas had flown over the fence into the chicken pasture and are now in with the chickens. Will need to wait till they roost for th night and then go scoop them up and carry them back to their own pen. Silly birds!

Supper was a jar of home canned vegetable soup, and either pumpkin cake or apple cake for dessert.

I went grocery shopping this morning. Mainly bought produce.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes.

Called my mom and then took a nap.

Went to the chiropractor and she released a bunch of toxins--my face is rashy still but I feel better.

I am having a turkey burger for dinner with a spinach salad that has broccoli, carrots and strawberries(strawberries were 99 cents at the store and taste pretty good for being out of season).

Then finishing up a novel and watching some TV.

Did some desk work.

Put 3 envelopes out in the mail.

Filled both bird feeders.

Folded wash and put it away.

Baked whoopie pies.

The boys brought a 40 lb box of bananas home from Walmart. 10 cents a lb!!!

Filled the freeze dryer with banana slices.

Daughter made a casserole for supper, using canned potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini and fried ground beef. Added a bit of cheese to it yet. Delicious! Bananas for dessert!

Last night I went out late to shut the guinea's door. When I opened the door to go inside, there was Mr Opposum! Bright eyed and not about to play dead. I kicked the cat dish towards him and he disappeared. Dropped down and went under the floor boards.

When in to tell Sonny, but he wasn't in to chasing Opposums... whenI went back out and shone my flashlight at the floor, I saw his beady little eye peeking out between the crack in the boards.

He made a hole in the bag of pig feed. Since we have no pig, its not a great loss.

Adventures on the farm are ongoing!

Went to my GP appointment and got a referral to PT for my BPPV symptoms.

A very nice receptionist at the PT clinic went and talked with the therapist and they squeezed me in for Thursday.

Afterwards went and visited my Mom's bestie.

My fav pizza place has BOGO on Tuesdays! I didn't know this. I bought 2 medium veggie pizzas and had 2 slices and froze the rest. I have pizza for days now.

I'm watching a movie and relaxing now.

See you all tomorrow!

Manna--I again am laughing at animal antics at your place! [Big Grin]

AK--Glad you can get in and hopefully get that vertigo fixed tomorrow.

Caught a 5th mouse today. Was hoping that after plugging holes around pipes with steel wool I wouldn't see anymore. 4 of the 5 have been trapped in the cabinet under the kitchen sink.

I did my bike warmup and then my knee and feet exercises.

Got my haircut at a local retirement center. They were shut down last week due to the flu, so I and the stylist both wore masks.

Rode the exercise bike another 40 minutes. Going to feel that tomorrow.

Called mom. Texted, read and grounded.

Am cooking a boneless pork chop now for dinner and will have broccoli and a spinach salad again.

Then some reading and maybe a little TV.

Filled the guinea feed barrel.

Went to put the bag of cat food into their barrel and discovered some thing had bitten a big hole in the side..... the oppossum??? Well, the food is in the barrel now!

This evening all the chickens but 1 were in their house and the guineas in the chicken pen were still outside. So I closed the door and opened the fence. The guineas eventually found their way out of th chicken pasture and happily made their way home to their own pen.

Opened the door and let the last chicken into her house. 12 eggs tonight.

Called about my doctor bill and they gave me a 20% off my bill. Nice!

Spent some time at the sewing machine this afternoon and again this evening. Working on the little quilt patches to put on the new curtains for my sewing room.

Supper was baked lemon pepper chicken, baked diced sweet potatoes, peas n carrots. For dessert, peanutbutter instant pudding and bananas.

Carried Jackie the cat in from the barn tonight. He finally is tame enough to want to be petted and will run in front of you and stop, so you almost trip over him, again and again and AGAIN!

Gabbed with my sis-in-law a good long time tonight!

Today is 2 of my sister's birthdays.... 4 years apart.

Picked up our vegan dinner this afternoon at the health food store/restaurant. Afterwards picked up a free smoothie (had a coupon from my haircut place) and texted a bit and watched TV.

Went to Josh's at 6:00 with our dinners. Feeling a bit off and dizzy and hoping therapy tomorrow will help.

Hiker way to go on the bike!

Manna I think that's the first time I've heard of siblings having the same birthday!

Well guess I'm going to stretch out in the recliner for the night.

See you all tomorrow!

Got up early and did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went for a 20 minute walk before it rained.

Joined some women from my Bible study for lunch at a Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas and the company were great.

Chatted with mom.

Worked on finance stuff.

Then started in on the new Bible study (second half of Acts). We don't meet until February but I thought I would get a jump on it.

Since I filled up at lunch I am just having a salad for dinner.

Then some reading and watching the Illini basketball game.

AK, I've also got 2 brothers with the same birthday, also 4 years apart!

Baking day - 32 loaves of bread. All packed up ready to go.

Washed all the laundry, folded and in baskets ready to put away.

Sonny is outside welding on the pick-up truck he is fixing. The welder is flashing lights in the window beside my desk. Think I'll go sew instead.

Hubby put pieces of insulation up in the chicken house to help keep it warmer when the next cold front moves through.

Supper was BBQ sandwiches & french green beans. Cake and peanutbutter instant pudding & bananas.

Freeze dryer is finished and we packed up the bananas.

Maddog, sorry you didn't bag a deer, but your outings sound peaceful!

AK--Hang in there!

Energy healing shows I still have a touch of EBV and now I have another round of candida overgrowth. Too many sweets during the holidays, but my immune system is not well.

I put the chocolate I have left in the back of the fridge where I won't see it. [shake]

Did my knee and feet exercises and rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.

Grabbed a cup of coffee and then chatted a bit with mom and several hours with a friend. Hope lip flapping counts as exercise! [Big Grin]

Leftover pork chop for dinner with spinach salad and snow peas. Then I think I will watch the Indiana-Oregon bowl game. My SIL went to Univ. of Indiana.

Washed several loads of towels, folded and put away.

Forgot to wash our bedding. Will do it tomorrow.

Hubby got all the garden seeds out and sorted through them. I was busy with other things and didn't help much. Will need to decide what to order.

Time to bring the Amaryllis bulbs in to get started blooming.

Worked at sewing the curtains for my sewing room. Hoping to finish them tonight.

Supper was homemade pizza, one was a Big Mac pizza and the other a regular ground beef/venison & pepperoni pizza. Sparkling cidar and bananas for dessert.

AK, hope you soon feel better. You too, Hiker.

Did odd jobs today--washed a load of laundry, filled bird feeders, cleaned the storm drain of leaves.

Expecting snow and high winds tonight and tomorrow, but probably not too much snow.

Called mom.

Went to the library and got two books. Stayed there a while and helped a woman who just moved from Louisiana figure out how to get a copy of her birth certificate so she can get an Illinois ID.

Stopped and got coffee on the way home and I should’ve gotten a small and not a large cause now I’m overstimulated. I also stopped and bought some birthday cards at Dollar General.

Texted, read and grounded this afternoon.

Just boiled Italian sausage and will broil them for dinner. Adding snow peas and a Romaine lettuce salad.

Then reading and setting up my iPad to stream the Bears-Packers playoff game. Can't stream on my TV.

May end up shoveling later tonight.

Filled Hubby's pill keeper.

Washed our bedding and put it back on the bed.

Gabbed on the phone with a friend for awhile.

Finished sewing the curtains for my sewing room and hung them up. I like them! I put a row of quilt patches along the bottom.

Watered the plants.

Fed and watered the animals & birds. Gave each of the goats and the dog a treat tonight. One of the cookies that came back from the store.

One of the neighbors cats is hanging out at our place since his owner isn't at home.

Supper is tomato soup and toasted cheese sandwiches.

Brought meat & veggies in from the freezer for tomorrow's meals.

Still a bit off but got a good report from PT yesterday that my BPPV seems resolved. Thank God because I have an endoscopy on Monday then PT the next day to make sure my ear is OK from laying down during the procedure.

I don't know if I mentioned that I bought an at home metal allergy testing kit. Each metal is disc shaped and you wear it with a silicon strap like a watch.

Was doing great until I used Cobalt and had a reaction. 2 more metals to go and then I need to figure out if there's a safe shoulder implant for someone with MCAS.

Josh and little Juno came over for dinner and I made a ground beef, tomatoes and noodle casserole along with a salad. We had ice cream for dessert.

We watched an Irish scary movie that wasn't too bad.

Manna we love tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. That's some sure enough comfort food!

Hiker enjoy the game!

Maddog hope you had some better luck deer hunting.

Time to unwind. Goodnight friends!
