Decided since I haven't caught any mice in over a week, I would clean up the traps and put them away.
Called mom.
Took a short nap after lunch.
Read and grounded all wrapped in a blanket in the recliner.
It is going to be below zero tonight with 40 mph winds and windchills of -20*. I opened the cabinet doors under the sinks and am dripping the faucet in the basement. Wanted a pizza tonight but can't make myself go out to get it.
So, I will have an Amy's gluten free burrito and a salad.
I plan to watch the Bears-Rams NFL playoff game tonight. I am reading a pretty good mystery so will read after the game.

Nature 24--I am reading a mystery called "Five Found Dead" by Sulari Gentil. It is a takeoff of "Murder on the Orient Express." Do you like to read?
A safflower feeder is a bird feeder with safflower seed rather than sunflower seed. It attracts smaller birds like finches, chickadees, nuthatches etc. The squirrels tend to eat my sunflower seeds.
When I got up this morning the wind chills were -20 degrees (-29 C). brr.
I used the leaf blower to clear the deck of light snow.
Did my knee and feet exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.
Took a nap after lunch.
Called mom. Then read and grounded.
Did some spot cleaning after I got some caffeine in my system (mix of decaf and caffeinated coffee--trying to cut down).
Dragged the ladder from the basement to the kitchen to change the battery in my clock above the sink.
Filled the bird feeders again. I need to go buy some suet.
Took the garbage bin to the curb. Not enough room for recycling bin due to snow.
I am having a turkey burger for dinner with asparagus and a spinach salad.
There is a chance to see the northern lights tonight, so I will be in out and of the cold.
Plus, I am going to watching the college football championship between Indiana and Miami. Rooting for Indiana since my SIL went there.

Baking day. Baked an extra 3 loaves of sourdough because someone wanted 2 loaves. Baked an extra 3 loaves of bread for ourselves and the regular amount of 32 loaves for the store.
Have the 2 loaves ready to ship tomorrow. Popped them in the freezer to keep them fresh longer.
Have the laundry washed and dried except the last two loads. Folded 2 loads and hung up all the dresses & shirts.
Put extra bedding in the dog house tonight. A couple of the cats have decided to sleep in with him. They should all stay warm.
Currently 16* and supposed to be down to 8* till morning.
Hubby is measuring the space to put up a temporary greenhouse attached to the summer kitchen. He wants to build a bigger one that will take some digging out...... but that will be another year. This will be and 8 x10 or so and have space to start seeds instead of doing it in the house and getting potting soil everywhere.
Supper was leftovers. The boys were heading out as soon as they ate supper, for chorus practice.
Im tired tonight.

Today I got my latest blood test results back so I have been researching chlamydia pneumoniae and mycoplasma pneumoniae - is it okay I said that in this thread?
I did some colouring of a Mandela
I read some of a 'Hello Fashion' magazine
I read some of the book 'great art explained'
I ordered a supplement - ViradChem Binder
I added some Organic Medjool Dates to my online food order
Wished a happy birthday to a family friend

nature24--You can almost say almost anything in this thread as long as you leave out LLMD names.
I love Medjool dates!
Went grocery shopping this morning. A bit warmer today but still have the wind that gives you quite a chill. Chance of snow tonight. Better go soap the snow shovel again.
Did my balance and shoulder exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.
My once-a-month cleaning gal came. She said had hadn't her usual caffeine today, so I went and got us both coffees. so much for me cutting down on caffeine! She is a total sweetheart and has not raised her rates since I started with her about 5 years ago.
I input some info for federal taxes--charity and medical deductions. I do my taxes a little bit at a time.
Read and grounded.
Leftovers for dinner tonight and then watching a recorded show and reading.

COLD here today. Was 8* when I got up this morning. Saw a high of 19*. BRR!
Finished folding the clean laundry and carried the baskets to the right rooms to be put away by the owners.
Brought in 3 more amaryllis bulbs from the cold cellar. Time to start waking them up to bloom.
Filled the bird feeder. Hubby found a piece of plastic to use as sides to build another bird feeder. I like a big one you don't need to fill every day!
Sat on the chair with the back massager on twice today.
Looked through the quilt magazines looking for ideas.
Baked whoopie pies.
Supper was vegetable beef soup, homemade bread & jelly. A jar of canned fruit danish with a banana sliced into it for dessert.
Hubby went through all the leftover vegetable seeds and made a list of what we have. Now he's doing the same for the flower seeds. He is much more organized than I am!

Hi everyone!
I've been just taking it easy. I canceled my PT appointments for the month and just concentrating on going to get a liver scan this Friday.
Today's high is 59° and I feel frozen! Probably alot to do with just sitting around all day.
I tried to do small bounces by lifting my heels up and down but it hurt my side.
Think I'll try some grounding on my mat. It's in the dining room because outlets on that side of the house are grounded.
I took out the last of my frozen turkey, dressing and gravy from Thanksgiving and will nuke it for dinner.
Other than that I'm staying on the love seat bundled up.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.
Called my mom.
Took an hour nap after lunch.
Went to the library and got 5 books. Going to be super cold starting tomorrow night for a few days and some snow coming. Figured I would need reading material.
Read and grounded for several hours.
Cooking a chicken breast for dinner with steamed broccoli and a spinach salad.
Then watching Illini basketball.
Hope to get to bed a bit early. If the wind dies down I would like to drive over to see my mom tomorrow before the wind picks back up and the cold moves in.

AK, sounds like a lovely meal! I love thanksgiving dinners. Take care & hope you are soon feeling better. Wonder how cold it will get down your way and if you'll get any snow?
Sounds like we could be getting around a foot of snow this weekend. It warmed up some today. Supposed to snow a little overnight then be partly sunny tomorrow.
Today I washed the eggs to sell and boxed up 6 dozen to send to the store.
Melted some deer fat & chicken fat, added bird seed and made a suet cake to fit in the suet feeder for the birds.
Leftover vegetable soup for lunch.
Cut some more patches for the quilt.
Fed the sourdough starter.
Put the suet feeder out for the birds.
Supper is meat loaf, diced potatoes with brown butter, broccoli, harvard beets & homemade bread.
The boys just came home from work. Time to put supper on the table.
Plan to sew this evening.

nature24--What kind of movies do you like to watch?
I did my balance and shoulder exercises.
Then went to Farm and Fleet and bought bird seed and suet cakes. Took the country highway and boy was it windy.
Filled all the feeders when I got home.
Rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes.
Took a nap and by the time I got up I decided I wouldn't drive over to mom's today. Cold, windy, and I have a bit of the sniffles that I don't want to give her.
Had a mocha frappuccino after I called mom.
Read and grounded.
I need to go to the basement and drip the bathroom faucet. Going to be below zero tonight without the wind chills. High of 1* tomorrow with -25* windchills. Don't want the pipes to freeze.
Manna--hope you don't get too much snow. Ours is coming Saturday and Sunday.
Leftovers for dinner and then a bit of reading and a bit of TV.

Chiropractor appointment this morning. Stopped at the feed store for extra grain for the chickens & guineas.
Baked bread, but 6 loaves less than usual.
Started washing a few loads of laundry.
Supper was leftovers.
Snow is supposed to get here later Saturday with most coming Sunday. So far it doesn't appear to be any ice for us.
Ak, hope all goes well for your scan tomorrow.

I hope you all stay warm! It's in the 50's and 60's here until Monday then we'll have lows in the teens and 20's.
I was up early and got ready for the day. Still couldn't access my medical records so after a steak biscuit and coffee went to the hospital and got my records.
Surgeon's diagnosis is different than the gastro doc's so surgery might not be laproscopic like I had hoped. His diagnosis is bilary dyskensia.
I'm going to try and get a second opinion before my surgery date.
I won't be able to eat or drink 4 hours before my test tomorrow. I'm hoping the test won't hurt me too much.
I picked up Mexican fast food for dinner. I don't know why but after dinner I have quite a bit of pain and bloating. Googled to see if fasting helps and it isn't recommended.
BTW, Sunday is my BDay but Josh is sick and I'm not feeling so great myself. I might pick up dinner and watch a good movie.
My surgery is on the 5th and Josh's BDay is on the 13th. So looks like we won't be celebrating his either. We'll see.
Once home I gabbed on the phone with my neighbor and then Josh.
Loved reading all the posts!

nature24--I will have to look up that film.
I woke up to -5* with -29* windchill. And it won't get any better tonight.
I did my balance exercise instead of my knee exercises because they require more moving around and I could keep a bit warmer in the basement.
Then did my shoulder exercises and rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.
Filled the bird feeder with safflower seed and walked to the mailbox. Brr.
Started up the car to make sure the battery was still alive and it took me to the coffee shop.
Sipped coffee and read this afternoon.
Then balanced the check book and worked a little on income tax.
Worked on Bible study.
Chatted with my mom and then a friend, too.
Didn't defrost anything so will heat up a gluten free rice, bean, and cheese burrito and make a mixed greens salad.
Then a bit of TV and reading the newest James Patterson book, "Private Rome."

Made sure all the birds and animals have fresh water and plenty of food.
Filled the bird feeder.
Folded all the clean laundry & put it away.
Refilled the dishwasher with more baking dishes.
Sewed more rows of quilt blocks together. Need to do 4 more rows of blocks together to get it finished.
Supper was chicken bacon ranch, baked corn, peas, homemade bread with butter & peach or strawberry jam. Dessert was canned fruit, peaches, pears & pineapples with 2 bananas sliced into it.
The boys have to work tomorrow. Store closes at 3 so they could be home by 4. But some of the youth want to go skating on a pond near the store if its not snowing too much.
No wonder moms get gray hair! Wouldn't be so bad if they were only 10-15 minutes from home instead of 45!
nature 24, sent you a private message.
How did your test go, AK?

Hi everyone!
My test didn't go well. It was painful for me and the technician wasn't able to get a reading. She didn't understand why and said the gastro doc is on vacay and will be back the second week of February.
Later I went and dropped off my records at a different surgeon's office for a second opinion.
Been struggling with the pain and have really medicated myself.
I managed to eat a bit of soup and rice for dinner.
Nature I did live in Alaska from the mid 90's until 2001. I've gone back several times for a visit and the last trip for 5 weeks in 2023. I've wanted to go back for years but am staying put here in the South for family.
Chatted on the phone too and that cheered me up immensely. It's amazing how talking with friends can make everything better.
Thank you all for the prayers!
