I watched my local church service online and then listened to the National Cathedral sermon.
Ran a load of laundry.
Called my mom.
Shoveled the sidewalk and porch and cleared the back deck of snow. Waiting on Bret to come do the driveway. The snow plow left a ton of snow in front of the drive and mailbox. Snow is drifting as the winds pick up (We got 5-6 inches).
So, what I shoveled is already filling back in from the blowing snow. But it was good exercise.
Filled one bird feeder.
Going to be -5* tonight with -20* windchill. I am getting tired of winter.
Spaghetti sauce over rice noodles again with snow peas and butter lettuce salad.
Then watching some football playoff games on mute and reading.

Happy Birthday, AK!
We got 4 inches of snow and then some sleet and rain. It has turned to snow again. 33* this evening.
Didn't let any of the birds or the goats out this morning.
Watched church online. Nobody went anywhere.
Spent a lot of time watch Ryan Hall Y'all doing a live weather report most of the day.
Supper was leftovers.

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!
I slept in til 10:15! I was surprised I slept that much.
I felt better today so I actually did a lot of cooking and freezing batches for later.
I made more white rice with lentils. Cooked some dried limas in the crockpot and made some winter melon soup with miso, garlic and ginger.
Big switch going no to low fat cooking but my side isn't hurting as badly so I'm sticking with it.
I'm very happy to finally post some exercises! I did 2 sets of 10 minutes of walking in place and swinging my arms. I tried to get my knees up as high as possible without hurting my side.
No birthday cake for me but will have a rice cake with fig jam on top.
I hope everyone stays warm!

nature24--Hope your LLMD appointment went well. What is the weather like where you live?
Manna--that weather forecaster sounds like a hoot with a name like that.
I did my knee and feet exercises and then rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes. Am toxic today and exercise helps.
Did my usual Bible reading, listened to morning prayer, and worked a crossword puzzle.
Took a 30 minute nap after lunch.
Worked on taxes. I input as I get statements. I don't like to sit and do it all at once.
Read and grounded.
Called mom.
Filled the safflower feeder. Birds are hungry in this cold weather (30 mph winds and -20* windchill).
Took the recycling bin to the curb. Due to the snow pile from the plow, there isn't enough room for the garbage bin, too. But I don't have much garbage so the bin can sit in the garage another week.
I boiled Italian sausages and will broil them and have one for dinner tonight. Making a butter lettuce tossed salad with snow peas, carrots, and raspberries.
Then some TV and reading.

Thanks Nature and hope your appointment went well too!
Hiker way to go on the exercise!
I went overboard today. I picked up my RX and some much needed groceries.
Put YouTube on and worked out to four 10 minute videos that showed Tai Chi and Qi Gong exercises for inflammation, gallbladder relief and vagus nerve stimulation.
I really enjoyed doing them but my back is a bit tweaked. I should have just done one.
I made 2 little sliced bread pizzas with vegan cheese, mushrooms and bell pepper. Not bad using the pizza sauce to kind of mute the faux cheese.
Oh and I have an appointment Wednesday for a second opinion about surgery for my gallbladder.
Stay warm friends!

The store was closed today due to the snow & ice. So the boys were home all day. So nice to have everyone at home when the weather is bad.
Snowed all day - just lightly, got another 3 inches, maybe 3 1/2. Didn't take time to go measure it.
Baked only 12 loaves of bread for the store and 1 for us. Made two pizzas for supper, 1 Big Mac pizza and the other one with ground beef/venison & pepperoni.
Have 2 more loads of laundry to wash. Still need to fold at least half of it.
Cut out some more quilt patches for daughter's quilt. Sewed some of the patches together. They are waiting to be ironed before I sew the next set of seams.
Exercise was trying to chop the ice off the steps leading up to the chicken house. Put extra salt down to hopefully melt it off.
Supposed to go down to 3* tonight, and only reach a high of 21* tomorrow, with a chance of more snow showers tomorrow evening.
Stay warm!
I'm very thankful we didn't loose electricity this time. In the mountains, it can happen quite easily with so many trees everywhere.
Called Mom and talked with her awhile. They had around 12 inches of snow.

Still cold and windy but much more bearable today. Wind chill advisory out again for tonight and tomorrow morning. BUt we are done with snow for awhile!
Did my balance and shoulder exercises. Then rode the exercise bike for 30 minutes.
Called my mom.
Read and grounded.
Went for a chiropractic adjustment. It helped release the rest of the toxins and I feel better except for a lingering headache.
Leftover Italian sausage for dinner with a salad.
Then some TV and reading.

Lowest temp overnight was 1*. Snowed lightly again this afternoon. This evening since supper had more snow. The walks are covered again.
Finished folding wash and put it in the correct rooms. The boys put away their own clothing.
Pressed all the quilt patches I sewed yesterday. Lined them up ready to sew the next 3 rows together.
Baked whoopie pies this afternoon.
Hubby built a new bird feeder to replace the broken one. He's out putting the last two pieces on it.
My nephew called to gab awhile and my brother was on the call too.
There was chorus practice tonight so the young folks left right after supper.
I filled the dishwasher. Usually the boys take turns doing the supper dishes. Daughter & I take turns cooking.
Had a leftover piece of pizza for a snack.... wish I'd have warmed up a bigger piece!
Think I'll go sew till the children get home.

Hi everyone!
Worked out to 4 videos on YouTube again. One for inflammation, another for vagus nerve stimulation, liver detox and one where you just lightly bounce and do breathing exercises. I call that one the shake and bake!
Today I have a bit more pain and have been very nauseous. I'm hungry but when I eat I have bloating and pain.
I'm so happy for a second opinion appointment tomorrow.
A friend of mine said that he's her doctor and is very nice.
Pray I can have surgery ASAP.

I did my 5 minute bike warmup and my knee and feet exercises.
Then rode the exercise bike for another 30 minutes.
I listen to morning prayer and a Christian podcast while I exercise.
Washed the sheets and towels and remade the bed.
Took a nap after lunch in the nice clean warm flannel sheets!
Tromped through the snow to fill several bird feeders. Still cold here and going to be even colder the next few days.
Read and grounded.
Called my mom.
I am cooking a pork chop and making a butter lettuce salad. Also steaming broccoli for dinner.
Then some TV and reading. The book is due Friday at the library and I have over 200 pages to go.

Hung up the new bird feeder this morning. Holds 5 scoops of feed rather than the 3 the broken feeder held and the only 1 scoop the little feeder holds.
Didn't take long for the birds to find it and start eating.
Finished up the quilt top for my daughter.
Now to find the right pattern for my oldest son's quilt.
Supper was ham, green beans & potatoes in the crock pot.
Need to mix up the sourdough bread.

Went to my appointment and was so very happy with this surgeon. Even though my appointment for surgery is further out, on February 12th instead of the 5th with the other surgeon there was no question of switching.
Also he is convinced it's my gallbladder which the other surgeon said it wasn't.
My new surgeon assisted me on and off the exam table.
We briefly discussed my need for pre-medication before surgery due to my MCAS.
He also asked me about my bad shoulder and showed me the position my arms would be in during surgery and if I was able to have my arms like that.
Basically it's like you're on a cross which thankfully I'm able to do as long as it's not overhead.
The other surgeon didn't exam me and was very rude and disrespectful.
So....hasta la vista!
Thank you God for answered prayer.

Today I went to Josh's to see little Juno and get her outside for awhile.
While I was there I folded laundry, put away dishes and did a quick wipe down of the kitchen counters.
His little dog was so happy to see me she just stayed right beside me licking my hands and wiggling around with doggy joy.
I missed her too!
Josh gave me my belated birthday card filled with too much money which I tried to give half of it back.
He said, "Auntie, just say thank you!". He's grown into such a wonderful, kind and caring man. He's so much like his Mom, my sister, and she would be so very proud of him.
He also took me to the Chinese buffet for a belated birthday dinner. I ate sushi, poached fish, baked clams and mussels. For dessert I had various fruits.
It's been 10 years since I've eaten seafood because of MCAS but my new RX really seems to help.
For exercise today I did alot of walking at the hospital from one pavilion to the other and chores at Josh's. It was 51Β° and sunny so me and the doggo stayed out for almost 2 hours.
Stay warm friends!

Baking day. Did the full amount of 32 loaves of bread for the store, plus 3 extra loaves for us.
Also got all the laundry washed & dried and some of it folded.
When doing chores, I carry a bucket of hot water out for the birds and animals.
The goats wait impatiently for their treat of cookies. One for each. They like the molasses one best. If I carry the hay into their pen first, they are sniffing my gloves and one nearly pulled my glove off by biting the end of a finger and pulling. She was determined she is getting a cookie nd could smell it on my gloves!
She didn't bite my finger, jus the glove.
The dog waits for his cookie too and will bark at the goats because its not fair that they got a cookie before he does! But if I give his cookie before he eats his food, he might not eat it. So I feed him his dog food first and last of all he gets his cookie.
Want to go start cutting the patches for my oldest son's quilt. He choose the pattern for it last night and I cut & sewed a trial patch with scrap fabric.
Supper was grounf beef barbeque, leftover green beans & diced potatoes. Oh and homemade bread!
Still COLD here! 0* when I got up this morning. It was 19* this afternoon. Dropped to 15*
The 2 younger boys are out ice skating again tonight with the youth group from church. BRRR! I'm glad I can stay inside! Sonny took his motorcycle pants & jacket to keep warm and for the padding when he falls!
AK, so glad you found a kind doctor. That is a real blessing! Prayers your surgery goes smoothly and you recover quickly.

Went to the walk-in clinic this morning and I have a sinus infection and fluid in my right ear. So I'm on Doxy for a week and the NP suggested OTC dramamine to drain the fluid. I didn't realize it's used for that.
Not feeling great but hope to feel better soon.

I did my knee and feet exercises and rode the bike for 25 minutes.
Called mom.
Went to the public library and checked out 6 books. Received a travel mug for finishing the Winter reading program. Seems like it will keep liquids warm or cold well.
Stopped for coffee on the way. First bit of caffeine in almost a week.
Worked on Bible study.
Did the Washington Post Crossword puzzle and grounded.
Read little bit.
I am having meatloaf for dinner with a spinach salad and snap peas.
Then watching some TV and reading.
It's snowing again and we never got of the teens for temps today.

Picked up my juror's summons excuse from my Dr's office and went and dropped that off at the court office.
The summons was for February 16th, four days after my upcoming surgery.
Did a load of laundry.
Ended up eating some potato chips after a small dinner.
My blood sugar was too low from not eating enough today so grabbed the chips.
Really bad choice!
I've got to try and eat more especially on Doxy.
The bright side is that I'm not as dizzy or sickly since I went to the walk-in clinic for the ear and sinus infection.
Well time to find a movie to watch.

Stayed up late last night reading and then cleared snow from the drive, walk, porch and back deck before finally hitting the hay.
Did my balance exercises and used the pulleys to loosen my shoulders.
Ran a load of laundry.
Baked salmon for lunch with 1/2 baked potato and asparagus.
Then took a long nap.
Called mom.
Trudged through the snow to fill the bird feeders. But we are having a heat wave. Up to 25* today!
Read and grounded.
Then attacked my file cabinets going through each file and putting a lot through the shredder and into the recycle bin.
Cleaned the kitchen and bathroom.
Watered my indoor plants. Right now I have 8 but the amaryllis is done blooming, and the poinsettia won't last too long.
Leftover meatloaf tonight with a spinach salad and snap peas.
Then TV and reading as usual.

Folded one basket of wash & put it away.
Vaccumed the living room and rearranged some furniture so we could bring shelving in for more plants.
Gathered up the Christmas decor to put it away.
Brought in the rest of my Amaryllis bulbs in hopes of some blooms.
Put groceries away.
Broke down some boxes and stuffed them into a bigger box to save for using in the garden this spring.
Need to fill Hubby's pill keeper. And he wants a hair cut yet this evening.
Supper was mac n cheese, peas, & venison.

I'm having pain on the other side of my abdomen and will have to call the surgeon on Monday. I noticed about 2 weeks ago but it's been slowly getting worse. I suspect it's my pancreas.
Oh and I probably didn't mention that the NP at the walk-in clinic mentioned that I should look into getting sinus surgery for my repetitive infections.
Sheesh.....it's like I'm falling apart!
Other than that pain wasn't as bad today and stayed away from fats today since the chips I ate last night caused so much pain.
Josh and Juno came for Saturday dinner so I made a new boneless, skinless chicken breast recipe since mine have a tendency to be on the dry side.
It was a neat recipe. You season both sides and place in a slightly oiled casserole dish and here's the secret part...you wrap the top with an oiled sheet of parchment paper, oil side down and tucked under the chicken.
I baked them at 400Β° for about 30 minutes. They came out perfect! So it's my new way of cooking chicken breast.
Made rice and fat-free Normandy veggies. Most healthy dinner I've cooked in a long time.
Josh had toaster strudel for dessert and I had a rice cake topped with fig jam.
We gabbed away most of the evening and watched various short clips on YouTube and played with Juno.
Saturdays are definitely my favorite day of the week!
Hope everyone has a nice and warm evening!
