Welcome to the exercise thread. [woohoo]

Here we encourage each other to get up and move.

Are you walking, doing spring cleaning, shopping, physical therapy etc.? Any movement counts!

So, tell us about your exercise or just tell us about your day.

Happy week! [hi]

I watched the National Cathedral church service online and then my own local church.

Ran a load of laundry.

Was antsy for some reason, so rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes

Called my mom.

Took a nap after lunch.

Chatted a long time with my friend from WI while grounding.

Tossed salad for dinner and I may have some cheddar cheese as well.

Am keeping an eye on the weather as we are under a tornado watch. Rain rolling in soon and then changing to snow with 45 mph winds.

Plan to read and maybe watch a little TV tonight.

I shoveled the driveway and sidewalk. Put down ice melt on the porch. Below zero windchills.

I canceled my early AM dentist appointment due to blowing snow and ice.

Did my knee and feet exercises. Then rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.

Called my mom.

Did the puzzles in the newspaper while grounding.

Finished up a novel and am reading to start a new one.

Took the garbage bin to the curb. Hoping the wind doesn't blow it away.

I am having turkey burgers for dinner with steamed asparagus and a mixed greens salad.

Then some TV and starting the new Jonathan Kellerman novel called "Jigsaw."

Baking day.

Had winds this morning & then some showers off & on. Around 4 pm is started snowing. Around 7:30 we had 2 inches of snow. Supposed to continue until 9 pm.

Washed most of the laundry, dried it and have most of it waiting to be folded. Dresses & shirts are on hangers.

Took some pictures of the winter wonderland out there.

Hope the roads are still okay when the youth are on the way home from chorus practice.

Supper was leftover spaghetti, fresh homemade bread & lettuce salad.

I actually cooked dinner. I didn't want my 3 zucchini to go to waste so sliced them up and sautéed them with olive oil. Added ginger, garlic, miso paste and a bit of water and topped it with cubed tofu.

Had it on top of a thawed out serving of brown rice and lentils.

It was tasty but not very filling. Might have half a cookie and frozen yogurt later.

I didn't do much else except talk on the phone.

The low tonight will be 31° so I'm bundled up and on the couch. Been watching the news and I'm so ready to watch a light-hearted movie.

See you guys tomorrow!

I went grocery shopping. Bought mainly produce but also some salmon which was on sale.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Went to lunch with friends. We tried a new local place that specializes in breakfast. Had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and a gluten free blueberry muffins. Yummy. And fun to chat.

Called my mom.

Washed a load of laundry.

Rode the exercise bike for 25 minutes.

Went to the chiropractor. Ran into my BFF there. [Smile]

Did the puzzles in the newspaper and grounded.

Leftovers for dinner and then a bit of TV and reading.

Your lunch sounds awesome Hiker! I like breakfast food any time of the day.

I actually went out and about today. I gassed up my car and took it through a drive through car wash. No more pollen on it.

I went to Sam's, so major walking with a cart and looked for a chicken salad sandwich but they didn't have any. I bought a decadent slice of chocolate tuxedo cake and a lemonade. Ate half the cake and took the rest home.

I also went and checked out a local rescue mission's retail store. With the help of a cart I walked around for over an hour. Bought 3 CD's and a very cute blouse.

I had leftovers for dinner and ate the rest of the cake. It was to good to resist.

I'm so glad I went out today! Now I'm finishing a movie I started a couple days ago.

See you all tomorrow!

AK--You did a lot!

I did my 5 minute bike warmup and then my knee and feet exercises.

Rode the exercise bike for 30 more minutes.

Chatted with my brother.

Tried to talk to mom today and again she couldn't hear me. She actually hung up on me in frustration.

So, I spent the afternoon researching phones with closed caption and amplification for her. Most get horrid reviews and the one I liked requires someone to call the close captioning number and then dial mom's number. Not practical.

Others require her to have a router/modem in her room which just isn't possible there in such a small room. Plus, the internet there is slow.

Grounded while I was researching. Was a bit toxic today and the grounding helped.

Swept out the garage. Would have helped to move the car out to do a more thorough job. Maybe next time. [Big Grin]

Filled the front bird feeder since the snow has melted off the grass. Still have snow piled on wood deck, though.

I am cooking a boneless pork chop for dinner and steaming broccoli. Will also have a spinach salad.

Then some TV and reading.

Hubby caught a cold and then shared it with me. Feeling better today.

Gabbed on the phone with a friend.

Washed & dried two loads of clothes.

Finished oldest son's quilt top and started cutting patches for Sonny's quilt.

Supper was leftover chicken noodle soup.

Want to mix up the sourdough bread.

Hope you both feel better soon Manna.

Your poor Mom Hiker! I had to buy a phone for my Mom. I don't know if this still applies now but the more little holes in the handset where the sound comes out made a difference.

Today I went and picked up 2 vegan meals for Josh and I to eat for dinner. Stopped at Walmart to get Gatorade to mix with Miralax to prep for my colonoscopy on Friday.

Needless to say I'll be staying home tomorrow near the bathroom.

Had a great time at Josh's playing with Juno and watching Star Trek Voyager.

See everyone tomorrow!

Manna--Glad you are feeling better.

AK--Good luck with your colonoscopy tomorrow.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Attended Bible study.

Went for a 25 minute walk. Nice sunny day with no wind. [Cool]

Then chatted with my neighbor for a long time.

Filled 3 bird feeders. I have 5 total.

Tried to talk to mom but she couldn't hear me, so I said goodbye and hung up.

Took a nap after lunch as I will be up late watching NCAA basketball.

Had my mom's quarterly progress call with the nursing home. They said she needs new camisoles (I just bought her some a few months ago but she tends to rip things easily), new bras (not looking forward to finding one that fits her since she cannot come with me), and a new big clock. So, I have my marching orders.

They are probably going to get the MD to refer her to an ENT to get wax cleaned out of her ears and I will need to set up the nursing home transport and go with her.

Spent a lot of time searching for bras on the internet that she might like plus looked for a desk clock. Will need to go over and measure her for the bra. Ordered camisoles.

Grounded while I searched.

Leftovers for dinner and then reading and watching the Illini in the NCAA tournament.

Baking day. 32 loaves of bread.

Also did the laundry. Last load is in the dryer, and I want to get the rest folded & put away.

Gabbed with a friend this morning.

Most of the snow has melted again.

I could hear the spring peepers tonight!

Supper was chicken noodle soup again. Such comfort food when you have a cold.

Happy First Day of Spring! [Cool]

It was 75* and sunny here although I didn't get to spend much time outside.

I drove over to mom's pretty early. A nice CNA helped me undress her to take some measurements and then went through clothes with me and suggested sizes.

The nurse checked her ears and she does have major wax in one ear. We practiced phone calls using her left ear and pressing the speaker button.

I ended up ordering blouses, pants, camisoles, bras, slippers, and a new clock online. I brought her rolling suitcase home so when I go back I can pack everything in it and make one trip in from the car.

We enjoyed lunch together and I got her some library books.

Drove back and gassed up the car and cleaned the windshield.

Cleaning gal came while I was gone and said the oven light burned out which surprised me because I never turn the light on. So, I went out and got a replacement bulb.

Changed my mailbox cover to a spring theme with frogs and daffodils. Also changed the door decoration to a wood one with tulips painted on it.

Am grounding now. Then will have an Amy's burrito for dinner with a spinach salad.

Probably just read after dinner. I am wiped out. I stayed up until midnight last night.

AK--Hope your procedure went well. Manna--Chicken noodle soup will cure what ails you!

I ran a load of laundry.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

As I was cooking lunch, I boiled brats and then froze them to be grilled later.

Called mom.

Did a bit of yard work. Raked some leaves. Then picked up fallen branches and some windblown trash.

Took a package to UPS.

Sat in the yard and grounded. It was 80* today but the temps will plummet tomorrow. My arms started turning pink, so I didn't stay out too long.

Had a nice chat with my backyard neighbor.

Cleaned a little more of the oven. Cleaning gal missed some spots that she had sprayed since the oven light bulb went out.

Started a new novel.

I have a ton of chili leftover from when I made it several weeks ago. So, defrosted some and will have it for dinner with a salad.

Then watching University of Illinois in the 2nd round of the NCAA basketball tournament.

Checked on the one section of goat fence that oldest son skipped checking on Thursday. Found wires on the ground, some sticks laying across. So fixed it up again.

Also straightened up a couple posts on the chickens fence.

Filled Hubby's pill keeper.

Mended a pair of jeans.

Sewed the last seam on the first set of patches for Sonny's quilt.

Emailed back n forth with a friend.

Cleared space in the freezer for the pork Sonny is bringing along home tomorrow.

Supper was tomato soup.

Want to peel sweet potatoes for the Fellowship meal tomorrow and make a blueberry dessert.

Wasn't dark yet when I did the evening chores. Will need to go out and shut barns doors before long.

Hubby worked at building his greenhouse.

Transplanted the money tree into a bigger pot.

Wow what a coincidence! Talked with my MN bestie and she was talking about having to much elk chili and that she was eating it most of the week. Also she said her eldest son has a great tomato basil soup recipe. She promised to email it to me.

My colonoscopy was hard on me. Couldn't take my regular antihistamines just IV Benadryl and Pepcid AC. Felt ill the rest of the day and the Miralax was still working and I think I got to dehydrated.

Was diagnosed with diverticulosis and have to eat a diet rich in soluble and insoluble fiber and take 2 teaspoons of Metamucil a day for 2 weeks.

Felt better today and then I over did it with vacuuming and dusting. So of course my side and wrist are hurting. Had to put the bigger splint back on.

Josh took pity on me tonight and he took me to the country cooking buffet. I ate a bit of fried chicken, collards, black-eyed peas, coleslaw, 2 cherry tomatoes and a small cornbread.

I also ate a small slice of lemon cake and apple salad.

I didn't eat to much earlier and I was surprised I ate everything. So far no reflux either.

Time for bed so see you all tomorrow!

[hi]
