Then headed to mom's and enjoyed a nice Easter brunch with ham, hashbrown casserole, green beans, deviled eggs, and cheesecake.
Gas was cheaper in her town, so filled up and then drove the hour home.
I was informed by the CNA at her nursing home that she needs new pjs. She is very short but needs a large top that buttons and medium bottoms. Ended up on Amazon to get petite large with drawstring bottoms. Hope they fit. Otherwise, I would have to buy pairs in two different sizes and mix them together.
Filled the safflower feeder.
Relaxed and grounded while listening to Easter morning prayer service at Nat. Cathedral.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading.

Baking day.
Hung most of the laundry out on the lines to dry. Put the towels and socks & underwear in the dryer.
Tonight the guinea who lives with the chickens was out of the pasture. Let the chicken house door open & lights on while I took the basket of eggs to the house. When I came back she was inside. So I opened the inside door & let her back in with the chickens.
There was one guinea who wasn't going in the guinea house, so I waited until it was completely dark & then he was inside. I took my flashlight along and as I went around the outside of the barn....
Here came an opossum headed for the barn! I made noise and stamped my feet at him. He ran and bumped right into an old chicken coop setting on the ground. He hurried on and went round the corner of it.
Didn't follow him. Wished the dog would have come along to chase him away.
Want to finish folding wash tonight yet.
Supper was a casserole, mac n cheese, sloppy joe & peas n carrots. Homemade bread & strawberry jelly.

Walked for 30 minutes. The high today was in the low 40's but not very windy which is always a bonus here.
My mom's pajamas arrived so I hopped in the car and drove the hour to her nursing home. We tried on both pairs and she needed the large top from one pair and the medium bottoms from the other pair. So, I am unable to return what she couldn't use. I left them there in case the medium bottoms shrink in the wash and she needs the large ones.
Drove home. Stopped for gas. It has gone up 40 cents per gallon since Sunday.
Relaxed and grounded.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading and a little TV.

Sewed more of the quilt blocks and got two rows of blocks sewed on to the quilt. I think its about half done now.
Started cutting more patches for the next set of blocks.
Baked whoopie pies this afternoon.
Need to go cut all the asparagus that is up before it freezes tonight. Will cover the strawberry plants so the blossoms don't freeze.
Then do the barn chores and spend more time at the sewing machine.
Supper was corn, peas, bbq chicken tenders, bread & strawberry jam.

I did my balance and shoulder exercises and then walked for 30 minutes.
Super nice day out with temperatures in the 70's and not much wind.
I dug up parts of my dianthus plants that were encroaching on my asters and on the sidewalk. I had to use a curved tree saw to keep the shape and get through the roots. I will sure feel the hard work tomorrow.
Called mom. Read and grounded.
Leftovers for dinner and then reading and watching some TV.

I did my bike warm up and my knee and plantar fasciitis exercises.
Went to Farm and Fleet to get safflower seed, suet, and mulch.
Spread the mulch to fill in gaps where I cut back the dianthus yesterday. Tried to blend it in with the old so the color matches but probably need another cubic foot. Think I will just leave it as color will fade in the heat soon enough.
Was a dreary misty cool day but felt good to get an outside job done.
Went and got coffee.
Called mom and then sat and grounded while reading.
Chili for dinner with a spinach salad.
Zipped to Kohl’s to make some Amazon returns.
Now watching the splashdown of the Artemis Integrity. Success!

Neighbor tilled our garden yesterday, so today was planting day! Planted peas n potatoes, lettuce n spinach, radishes, beets n carrots.
And then planted a row with old bean seeds, if it should give frost n damage them, no loss as its old seed. I still have the new seeds to replant. And if they grow, we have fresh beans early!
Baked a few pans of meats for my friend n her family. Wanted to supply her with a few freezer meals for when her husband goes for surgery.
Washed a few loads and hung them out to dry. Had beautiful sunny weather. Debating if I put the flannel sheets back on the bed or get the cotton ones out.
The exzema on my hands is quite itchy tonight. Wish I knew how to get rid of it..... just using a steroid cream helps, but its not fixing the underlying reason.
The eggs in the incubator are starting to hatch. Sat 2 with tiny holes pecked into the shells.

Went 5 blocks to the store to get their specials on TP and laundry detergent.
Baked salmon for lunch with half a sweet potato and broccoli.
Took a nap--very toxic today.
Called mom.
Finished a novel while grounding.
Finishing up the chili for dinner and then watching a documentary and starting a new novel.
Manna--Hard to believe it is time to plant vegetables again. I read that some doctors recommend UV light therapy for eczema, but don't know much about it.
I use AmLactin intensive healing lotion on my very dry feet. Don't know if it would help eczema or not. Cannot be used on the face and I think skin areas covered with it are more easily burned in the sun.
