“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” - Frederick Douglass

Welcome to the exercise thread! [woohoo]

Exercise is hard when you have Lyme and so is motivation. Join us as we encourage each other to get up and move about.

Are you walking--even if it is only down to the mailbox or from your bed to the couch?

Perhaps you can do some gardening, shopping, cleaning, cooking?

Whatever exercise you can do, tell us about it or just tell us about your day.

Have a week full of progress! [group hug]

I watched the National Cathedral church service. My favorite pastor there gave the sermon. Very good.

Ran a load of laundry.

Called mom and we went through the fact that she thinks her phone doesn't work but it is her ears that don't work anymore. But she didn't hear most of the conversation.

Chatted a long time with a good friend.

Read and grounded.

Amy's burrito and tossed salad for dinner. Then starting a new novel.

Rainy windy day. I had to go hunt down the bird feeder that blew off the shepherd's pole.

Cleaned out the storm grate by the mailbox.

Did my bike warmup and then my knee and feet exercises. Rode the exercise bike for 30 more minutes.

Tried to call my mom, but don't think she can hear the phone ring.

Call several skilled nursing facilities in my town to see if they had openings. They don't. Am considering moving her closer since we can't talk on the phone. But she may just need to stay where she is as change is so hard for her.

Read the paper and did the puzzles. Also read a bit of a novel and grounded.

Wrote a letter to a friend.

Am having turkey burgers for dinner and a small salad plus steamed zucchini. Need to grocery shop as I am out of lettuce and fresh produce.

As soon as this latest storm passes I will take the garbage bin and recycling bin to the curb.

Then reading and some TV.

Baking day. 32 loaves of bread.

Did laundry and hung it out to dry, except for the towels. They get much softer in the dryer than outside.

Picked a little more than 5 quarts of strawberries.

Tied the cattle panels to the posts in the garden. Will plant tomatoes to grow up through the cattle panels. Keeps them off the ground and easier to pick.

Supper was vegetable beef soup, only venison instead of beef. Busy day cake for dessert.

After supper one son went shopping, another tilled the garden and the 3rd was fixing the engine on a woodchipper for a neighbor. Hubby weeded the asparagus patch. Daughter is baking cookies. I'm going to go finish folding the dry wash.

Went grocery shopping.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Rode the exercise bike for 35 minutes.

Called mom.

Took a 30-minute nap after lunch.

Went to the chiropractor.

Read and grounded and worked the newspaper puzzles.

Leftovers for dinner and then watching some TV and reading.

Washed 3 loads of bedding & hung it out on the lines to dry.

Started choosing the tomatoes, cabbages, cauliflower & broccoli to plant in the garden. Hubby started them all from seed.

Was upper 80's today, so decided not to start planting until this evening. Planted string beans & sweet corn. Had to stop when it got too dark to see

Baked whoopie pies this afternoon.

Supper was spaghetti & meatballs, cole slaw & carrot n raisin salad.

Just heard my sis n her hubby might be coming to visit this weekend. That will be special!

Walked for 25 minutes this morning. Gorgeous sunny day in the 60's.

Drove to mom's town to visit with her. We went to her "sit and be fit" exercise class. I must say for being 98 years old, she does really well.

Stayed for lunch. Went to the library in the attached retirement center to get her some books.

Had the nurse confirm she has a ton of earwax, and the nurse was having difficulty flushing it out. Mom wasn't cooperative.

So, I made an appointment at the ENT office and set up the nursing home van to get her there next week. I, of course, will drive over and go with her. I thinking getting the wax out will help at least with the phone conversations.

Gassed up the car on the way home.

Watered the flowers outside and filled the safflower feeders and hummingbird feeder. Pulled a few weeds.

I am cooking a porkchop for dinner and steaming the rest of the zucchini I have. Making a spinach salad.

Then probably read and do the crossword puzzle in the newspaper.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises.

Walked for 30 minutes.

Got out my 4 iron patio chairs and 2 small tables. Half went up to the top deck and half went to the patio.

Called mom.

Did some cooking and freezing for later.

Read and grounded.

Chatted with my FL friend and then one of my dad’s former PhD students called me from TX to chat. He is 79 now which is hard for me to believe. But I knew him when I was a child.

Leftovers for dinner and now I am getting ready to read.

Did my balance and shoulder exercises again.

Walked for 25 minutes.

Watered the flowers. Cut the dead buds of one peony. The other is still blooming. They are on opposite sides of the house.

Called mom. Had a good conversation since the nurse cleaned some ear wax out and she can hear better. Will still take her to ENT next week.

Went to the public library and picked up 4 books. Stopped for coffee on the way home.

Read and grounded.

Wrote a letter to a friend and popped it in the mailbox to go out tomorrow.

Talked to my BFF for quite awhile. We were talking about birds and I looked out and saw the first hummingbird of the spring at my feeder. Finally! [Smile]

Meatloaf for dinner with spinach salad and snap peas. Then reading and may watch a recorded show.

Ran a load of laundry.

Warmed up on the exercise bike and then did my knee and plantar fasciitis exercises. My left hip is hurting again, so added some stretches.

Called mom.

Took a 30 minute power nap after lunch.

Dropped off a couple of library books to drop box at the grocery store lot.

Watered the flowers. Filled one safflower feeder.

Sat outside and earthed while texting and then reading.

Leftovers for dinner and then maybe a chick flick and more reading.
