I can't believe this. There should be some heads rolling at USA Today for this, but nothing will come of it. Funny how you never see these things done to Liberals....LOL.

haha, okay, assuming that is in fact the case, i find it highly amusing. maybe that's just me.
and "liberals" are never the victims of so-called "cheap shots?" please. michael moore and paul wellstone (now deceased; the 25th marked the three-year anniversary of his tragic death. may he rest in peace, courageous, brilliant man) immediately come to mind.

I dont think liberal has anything to do with it. It is just the press taking liberty with photos. Something that has gone on for years in this digital age.
There was a photo of Oprah Winfrey that was someone elses body and her head on it.
There was Arnold Sch. with his head on someone elses sack-of-potatoes body.
There was the 9/11 doctored photo of the guy on top of the building and you could see one of the planes fly into the building.
One of the more famous political photos was a photo of Albanian Muslims behind barbed wire (with the implication it was a Serbian made concentration camp).
But that was completely mis represented. The Albanians were NOT behind barbed wire--the press was. The photo was taken looking out.

Many of the women involved with this administration seem like a cross between the Stepford wifes and the poeple in the film 'Rosemary's baby.' (based on their actions and performance)
Christie Whitman quit (in part) for that reason. We want women in power, but not if they are slaves to the men in charge and without any of their own independant contribution! Meirs is much this way as well. Yeesh.
Condi is the worst of them...I wonder whether this photo was doctored at all.

Tree,
The press does it all the time. Does anyone really think that the photos on Glamour magazines are not doctored? Of course they are. Stretch marks are colored out, highlighting is added to make a bust look larger than it is, ect. ect.
Anyone who thinks that ANY photo used by the mass media is not somehow doctored in some way is living in a fantasy world.
Ever see a Big Mac that really looks like this?

It's another thing entirely if you have NOT given permission for the doctoring and the final ok on the picture....doctoring of models/movie stars has nothing to do with the demonization of a political figure.
Mo, you must NOT have read the post at the top. The real picture is there and the doctoring for comparison.
This also goes hand in hand with just who is publishing the picture. If you are a liberal, with agenda rag/news? publication as opposed to a blog or comedy site....theres much difference in deceptive quality. The blog or comedy site especially would most likely make a note to the viewer of the doctoring.

Wow, did this one go right over your head or what? Unbelievable. Let me break it down for you.
We're not talking about the media doctoring photo's in general. We're talking about a major mainstream news source (that's supposed to be fair, honest and objective) doctoring a photo of a top political figure in a manner to hurt them personally and an attempt to negatively alter their standing with the voting public. Do you get it now?
In some cases it's rogue partisan hacks working for these news publications acting on their own, and in some cases it's encouraged if it's not caught by the public by executives up the ladder in these organizations. When have you ever seen a photo of a liberal that was altered to hurt their perception with the public? I've never seen it, but I've seen it a lot with Republicans.
.....and then there's subtle things that they use such as subconscious altered ads that marketing experts use to manipulate the public when selling products, except some liberal media use it the other way. You saw a lot of those used on Bush last year.
I got my degree in marketing many moons ago and I had to learn the marketing manipulation games that go on. These people learn psychology/consumer behavior and how the brain processes things in order to manipulate them. It really made me ill to see it. However, it opened my eyes and I recognize it plain as day. Most people don't know the tricks and don't notice them.

I got that Meg..I still think that's what she really looks like.
Seriously, tho, 24 -- even if it was purposeful, this has been done before.
However, in this case..maybe they were just trying to make her look better and botched it?
In the first pic the whites of her eyes were rather dull...the rest of the face was the same. Lots of times they remove a blemish or whiten teeth or eyes without permission.. many times.
What did the article with it say?
Did it deamonize her in the text?

I said they MAY have tried, and botched it.
Whitening the eyes is common, and the first shot was dark.
That's whay I was curious as to what the article was on exactly..
I'm just throwing out an idea.. who knows -- maybe they did do it purposefully.
Even if so, that also really isn't that uncommon and it's certainly not limited to 'Republican' photos...
Out of curiosity..if you think doctoring photos is bad, what do you think about high ranking officials in National Security outing a CIA agent's cover and then lieing about knowing anything?

24,
Somewhere along the line you learned that if anyone disagrees with you they are stupid, an idiot, dummy, 'over their head'....
I cant imaging encouraging a child to believe that only their ideas were important. That what they personally believed was the truth and anyone else was stupid. But apparently it does happen.
If a person takes the persepective that all other opinions are stupid...
How do they have a marriage calling their wife stupid all the time?
How do they have a job calling their boss stupid all the time?
How do they have a relationship with their chidren calling their children dummies?
How do they have friendships calling their friends idiots all the time?
The answer...they dont. What a sad way to live.

Kara, instead of attacking me, you ought to just take responsibility for your occassional outragous and extreme viewpoints, as well as your unique way of analyzing issues.
Trying to paint me as an always intolerant person to 'anyones' views.....my boss, my friends, my girlfriend, my wife, my family, my whatever.....that's just plain old immature. LOL. Yeah, you know me so well outside of Lymenet. Nice job.
The reality is this. I've always shown respect to different ideas and opinions as long as it's in the reasonable zone. However, when you get into the extremist zone on either, then my respect goes bye-bye.
There are a lot of things you say that are in the reasonable zone that I may agree or disagree with. But you do come from way out in left field at times, and I have no repsect for those viewpoints.
Examples of viewpoints that I have no respect for that you hold:
1. Nuke Iraq, Nuke Afghanistan....kill them all. Let God sort them out.
2. Neo-Con isolationist viewpoints where helping other people around the world is absurd and ALL money should be used within the US only. Like we're some sort of supreme master country and helping others at any level is nonsense.
3. Saying things like "Why did we have to provoke the Nazi's in WWII and get involved" and not understanding the basic facts of WWII.
4. Having a very low value of animal life, the pets that most everyone loves and the lack of understand as to how important they are to some people. Extremely insensitive towards people that have a high value for them.
These are just a few examples.
Now, regarding this post, I made it very clear that the topic is about objective mainstream news media outlest that have a habit of purposefully altering images of Republican political figures in office in a negative way to hurt them. That has nothing to do with a fake picture of a dopey looking guy standing on top of the world trade center, or a glamour magazine, or a Big Mac. This is a very specific topic and it apparently went right over your head.
So deal with it, and move on. But crying that I'm an intolerant person, even into my personal life, is a just diversion from the fact that you stated a bunch of things totally off-topic with some added 'know-it-all' flavor, and I called you on it.
