I certainly agree that the majority of the media is leftist.

But, what party do "left" and "right" belong to?

"Right", IMO, does not correspond to the Republican party any longer. Being a Republican used to mean that you believed in the Constitution. That you believed in what the Founding Fathers said... a limited constitutional government, with the majority of the powers residing with the state or local governments.

It used to mean that we agreed that your "rights", were granted by God, not government. By so being, your rights could not be taken away by government.

It used to mean that we didn't believe in meddling with other countries governments, unless they outrightly threatened us.

Bush talks a good story, but his actions don't appear to correspond to the above. And I'm from Texas. If he is the poster boy of the Republican party, I have to choose elsewhere.

Just my opinion.

What's interesting to me is that I've written for publications cited in this study to be on the left and another cited as being centrist.

I'm the same person, writing substantively the same thing and with no editorial intervention from any side. For the most part, my stories have run as submitted. Certainly, none was ever changed for slant.

For my money, one of the most balanced publications is the Christian Science Monitor. I've also written for them, and you cannot even submit articles that don't represent both sides in a balanced way.
