How about the newest views of what makes the world around us tick ("tick" in a much happier sense than we're used to!)?
Sounds like they'll find the Higgs boson soon. But now there are several new theories that bring gravity into the picture.

As you might imagine, I'm an adamate advocate of universal health coverage, eliminating all the horrendous waste and inequity that causes so much suffering. Anything less; any ...'compromise'... is a tragic waste of time, effort, and public funds. We must stop subsidizing the privateers who are robbing us blind and trashing the world with their excesses!

Well I've got news-- any time someone touches on a subject that bears on the well-being of living beings on this planet, it will inevitably be deemed "politicol" by those with tired ears, even when they can't help agree with the analysis, after thinking even a bit

Maybe I took the bait. But I didn't throw it out there!

Being sick myself has made this a natural subject, though. (and opened new windows on it, for me..)
