It accidentally somehow got into the washing machine and got washed.

Now it doesn't work.

Do I have to buy a whole new TV? Can you buy 'loose' remote controls?

Take the batteries out and let it sit a couple of days then put new batteries in it and try. Or go to a electronic store or if you like walma*t and purchace a universal remote read the directions closly and program it to your TV and vcr and dvd.

I broke a remote to my bedroom t.v. I went to RADIO SHACK and told the clerk bout it. He asked me what brand my t.v. is and then sold me a universal remote that would fit with it. I dont think it was much over $ 20. It lists on the packaging all the different T.v.`s it would fit.

It was easy. Took it home, flipped it the batteries and it worked perfectly.

Good Luck, Bartonella Blues.

Well, thank you!

After a bit of drying out and a pair of new batteries, it's as good as new again....I am glad because it's my bedroom TV and I've been spending more time than usual in bed recently, so I panicked a bit about not having a remote and maybe having to go get one. The nearest store would be about 30 miles away...
