anyone willing to wager how low the gas prices will be before midterm elections? My guess is under 2.00 a gallon. It is 2.21 today here as best price.

I'm with you, Skater -- pre-election gas just $1.75...though we had months here with the gas more than $3.00.

our cheapest is $2.42. I swear I saw 2.39 yesterday and now can't remember where.
Ha, best not go driving around looking for it.
I'm pretty sure we'll see lower than $2.00 leading up to elections like iceskater said.

seems to be going back up around here - 2.70-2.80.
the thing is, gouging continues in the heating oil. maybe cuz by the time we get the heating oil bills rolling in, midterms will be over. i don't recall that heating oil used to be the same price as gas per gallon, but it seems this year it is.
tough to know whether or not to lock in, as this year it was higher in the summer than it is now.
however, i'd wager it will all shoot up after elections.

It has been $1.99 here for days. I have no idea how much the taxes are though.
I suspect many areas with much higher prices have higher taxes added on!
FYI: I think Mississippi is backwards in the tax dept! I think our grocery tax (same rate as sales tax here) is one of the highest, but tobacco tax is one of the lowest! Our Gov used to lobby for tobacco industry, and doesn't want to trade lower grocery tax for higher tobacco tax. And I voted for him!

who wants to wager the price will skyrocket after elections ... the steady decrease leading up to Novemeber is pitifully obvious. locked in here - heating oil 2.35 gallon.. and we should be grateful for that. yeesh.
