Hi everybody
Just got an email that reminded me of a discussion we had on here this time last year. Thought I'd post it (Letter from Jesus) and check in with you guys. Just read back about 20 posts. Nice to see so many familiar names, some new ones too...
15* here today BRRRR! so so I am taking the day off. Good day to bake a few Christmas cookies or catch up on some household chores hahahahahahahaha! Feeling pretty good to just sit here at the computer wrapped in a blanket actually
Mo. the grape salad recipe looks good! I wonder what Labrat will be giving you for Christmas this year, maybe a new bathrobe? How are the kids?
Labrat, how are things on the refuge? Get to spend much time there lately? Still flying?

Hi dare! It's been a long time! Was planning on a trip to Basque Del Apache to spend Christmas day there as we have done many times before, but my most powerful wife, (who keeps me under thumb and suppressed more than 100%) isn't sure that's what WE want to do. Sooo, the negotiations have begun, well, where do you want to go? Somewhere interesting. Yellowstone? No, too cold. Florida? What th hell for!
Looks like the farm for at least a few days, we have the best overall wildlife there anyway! Next year will be one for the record books as we are turning up the throws on our feeders and will be planting all sorts of goodies for the pigs, deer and birds and in addition we're adding a crawfish pond fed by a solar pump. That should bring in the wading birds! Life is good!
Recently my most powerful turned me loose on the casinos of Mississippi and Louisiana. I once told my wife that I was a pretty good gambler before I lost my pilot's license and I recall she cut me off pretty short and that it was impossible to beat the casinos, so I never talked about it and kept my winnings in a deposit box. Well this trip I was being rewarded and she went along and gave me her blessing so after each session I'd let her count the money. The look on her face and stunned silence were priceless! I had a good time and my wife has agreed to let me go back on my own next week. She worries about me but guesses I'm as relaxed at the tables as I am watching TV.
Lost my medical due to heart complication of lyme (I guess) so most powerful got her private so I could fly on her ticket. The pilot who gave her a check ride in our airplane (complex aircraft checkout) lost his medical due to prostate cancer so he has to fly on her ticket too. My wife (who has almost 100 hrs) is in her glory, has all these big time ( 6000 & 8000 hr) pilots hopping from one foot to the other to get her to fly with them! Life is good!
Was thinking of a gift for that special someone, but what color would hide wine spots?

Nothing can prepare you for the real thing of being there but there is some good information here. The colder it is the better it is. You can view from the warmth of car or motorhome. The colder the better and the earlier the better, you won't be disappointed!

Lymedad,
GREAT to hear your son is coming home soon!! I bet that is precious to your wife, especially! I did sure enjoy getting to know Ojai a little, and giving the Jarhead a little sh**!
Hmmm, guess I put off that World Geography class til senior year....... then put OFF senior year (WAY off) haha, I couldn't figure out where "CONUS" was. HAHA! Just a little slow today! Continental US.... OK OK, it took me a while
Great to hear it, for sure! I am SO glad my son is home. Been just about a year. He's a fireman now; kid was born to make his Momma worry! I pluck out most of the greys but I leave a few because I earned them, dammet! I think if I were Ojai's Momma I'd wear grey hair as if it were a crown and be proud of it!
Are you keeping them all in line over here in OT? Seems the dynamics have changed a 'bit' in the year + since I hung out here. I didn't go back thru too many posts tho, just wanted to check in and wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and all Posts: 1149 | From southeast iowa | Registered: Sep 2004
