Tree....When I was teaching school we would monitor reports of earthquakes daily for several weeks. [during our geology studies]
It is not uncommon for there to be an earthquake every day somewhere in the world.
I was amazed myself!

I lived through the Northridge earthquake in Los Angeles. After spending a lifetime going through earthquakes with nonchalance, that one really scared me like no other. I do not take them lightly and always keep an earthquake kit ready to go.
I was the only one in my condo with flashlights that worked. I couldn't believe it - how could people in Los Angeles not be prepared?
Treepatrol, when looking at your list, it gives me one more reason I'd never try out for Survivor. Haven't a few of them been filmed on those locations?

Yep, definitely ring of fire. So we better watch out for volcanoes and tsunamis. What a lovely thought (I'm near the ocean). Thank goodness I keep renewing my earthquake insurance.
So, Treepatrol, are you just trying to worry those of us who live in earthquake areas? Or are you pointing out some of the the signs of end times? (which, I personally, agree.
These days, I get so many sensations of shaking from Bartonella, I wouldn't even know if we were having an earthquake!

I survived the Sylmar quake in 1971 Jill, I grew up in LA.
Built in ovens falling out of walls, windows bursting and pool water sloshing over both ends of the pools. Everything in our fridge and cupboards jumping onto the floor, buildings collapsing....exciting stuff.
I would take earthquakes over some other disasters....floods, fires, twisters, lava flow. I think we just have more reporting and watching these things these days--not so much an increase.

Oh, gosh, I remember the Sylmar earthquake. I wasn't in L.A, but San Diego, but my brother was there and I know from several people how much damage was done.
I had a similar experience with the Northridge earthquake in terms of things breaking, furniture flying across the room (I had bolted all my bookcases to the walls but forgot about some other pieces). One of my friends lived in Northridge at the time and there was a gas explosion right near her. She lost all her furniture, wedding china, etc.
People who haven't been in earthquakes may not realize how scary it is, because there is absolutely no warning.
To me, the scariest thing is when the freeways collapse. I mean, we drive on these every day and they seem so strong.

But I think the main thing keeping people away these days are the housing prices!!

Me, I'm a veteran of the '89 quake in San Francisco. Earthquakes don't much bother me. Although one made me late for my LLMD appointment last week - I was on the train and they had to stop the train because of an earthquake.

All the hatred, the anger, the evil we send out into the world, and the agony and rebellion they cause--all these are disturbing the earth. In the destruction caused by this war we are seeing a partial dissolution of the world--dissolution of lives, money, homes.
You do not have to wait for the end of the world in order to be free. It seems that the concept of the ``End of Days'' is necessary to humanity. Its purpose is to teach us the delusive nature of the world and the true nature of our Self, the soul. The soul comes on earth and becomes entangled in the mesh of delusion. Through the suffering that comes to us the Lord wants us to see that no matter what we do, the world can never be perfect. In this way He helps us to break our attachment to it. God is trying to make us realize, through non-identification with it, how delusive our existence here is.
Live without being attached. Wherever you are, carry within your bosom a portable heaven of joy. Have no fear. If you live in fear, health will go. Rise above disease and troubles. While you work to remedy your condition, inwardly be untouched by it. Be strong inside with full faith in God. Then you will conquer all the limitations of the world; you will be like a light of peace and happiness. End the world for yourself now, by being with God. Don't desecrate the temple of your soul with restless desires. Stand immaculate in the light of your conscience, and in the light of love for God. Reach that stage now. Then perhaps during this age of war, you will come like Christ to give peace on earth and say to mankind: ``I learned the lessons that God wanted me to learn. Troubles, diseases, and death mean nothing to me. I am one with the Eternal Light. The world has ended for me. Come, my brothers and sisters who are still suffering from the nightmare of this world of life and death --come with me! I will show you that the end of the world means the end of your dream delusions of this earth. Learn the lesson so that your soul may shine forever--an eternal star--in the bosom of the great Lord.''
Remember, you are here on earth for only a little while, but you are God's child for eternity.
