you know i got to thinking about everything that's happened on this board, sad...

there are a lot of different opinions about all kinds of treatment and how to get them and where to go.

some i find fascinating, some are expensive, and some are, well, different.

but i have a mind and have the option of going to who i want, when i want, etc.

i make a vow that i will not attack anyone personally for their views or opinions. it's their right.

i will not wish harm to anyone (we have enough to deal with!), wish anyone to hell, report any doc, and believe me i could tell you a a horror story about a llmd i went to (he was verbally abusive) and i didn't report him, just didn't go back.

i just want people to be well, kinder, i guess. no matter how bad my lyme will be, i don't think attacking somebody else is my style.

that's just me. so if you're mean to me, i just won't share my chocolate........

There are some things on this board that five years ago I would've thought were voodoo. Now we are incorporating this stuff into our treatment. At least, trying them.

I didn't pay much attention to the one thread where the woman ranted about the doctor she went to. I don't know enough about that kind of treatment to know if it was done correctly, or should've been done at all. I have no opinion.

in our local group, a woman railed against the doctor my daughter and I go to. She had a right to express her opinions, but I felt her comments were too damaging, and I didn't want to lose my doctor due to someone who wasn't thinking rationally.

So, I can understand if someone came to this doctor's defense. We feel very protective. We have to, we are in survival mode. It's a constant, day to day, down in the trenches survival. We get battle fatigue.

This is my opinion on the one recent situation where the woman asked for money. I agree we need to be careful about background checks. If someone were to google any of our nicknames, there could be a host of information that may not even be related to us. I found a zillion Kelmos in different countries. I'm glad none were felons.

However, this is where I would like to stand firm. I can't stop someone from sending money to another person on this board. That's their business. But, I think we need to be cautious, and protective when someone asks for money.

Even if the money were to go directly to the doctor, I would've done some kind of check to make sure there was an actual doctor at the address.

I know, it's only a dollar. But, asking for money sets a precedent.

Another thing that changed my mind about the safety of the situation were the private messages from this person that attacked me.

I fully understand the lyme rage and delusion that comes from chemicals and infection in the brain. This person needed help from more than we could've provided on this board.

It crossed my mind to call 911 and have someone do a care call on this woman, she sounded like she could do harm to someone or herself.

For removing them from the board, I don't know. Maybe removing the threads, or closing them may be first line of defense. Maybe a warning from the moderators.

These are my thoughts to no one in particular, I'm just airing my brain.

I agree completely. Nothing wrong with opinions, and maybe a little debate, but there is definitely a point where it becomes fanatical and offensive.

Randibear,

I really like what you wrote.

Respecting someone's opinion doesn't mean you are agreeing with them.

Boy, sometimes we are one big dysfunctional family, huh?

Kind of reminds me of my own little family.

Hugs,

Geneal
