I done did it. Used the power chair to get to the car from the apartment.
Able to walk in about 5 min or so. If it were not for Rosie taking my mind off of the struggle I was having with putting one foot in front of the other I would have turned around.
She loves being off leash and off work. I love watching her be happy.
She still keeps her eye on me.
The path back was easier due to it being slighty down hill.
Trying to figure out a way to keep tally for the week without going through all the posts to see how many days I was able to walk.

YAY KAM!!!!!!
Maybe you could try starting a post in here at the beginning of the week & going back to edit a tally into that post each time. Then post whatever whereever and you can just go back to look at that one post for your number?

Good for you, Kam!
Okay, I walked a mile when I got home from work tonight.
So I guess this bumps me out of the club, based on cavey's new rules?...
Nah, I'm not budging!

I'm here to bring this thread DOWN-just thought I'd let you know.
Of course, posting about bringing it down, will only cause it to go UP.
Such a paradox.
Anyway-I was glad to stumble upon this thread-I just said that because it was catchy-acutally I have been avoiding it on purpose because I was afraid it would make me sad...to be continued.

I feel like I've been benched. When I was still working I would use my lunch break to WALK everyday around the track on campus.
Made it up to 3 miles. I walked in every kind of weather-because I had something to prove. I had to prove that nothing was going to stop me.
I had to prove I had the fortitude and strength to weather any storm. And when it snowed, I found another route on sidewalks, through the back gate, along the street, down the driveway, and back to the classroom.
When it got bitterly cold I walk inside through a connecting maize of corridors -round and round and up and down. Still, I walked.

But Lyme Disease literally brought me to my knees. The only walking I do now is when my little rat terrier pulls me along .
I tried to get away with just throwing her out the kitchen window, which was ground level, to do her business, but someone reported me.
I think they stepped in something I won't mention, since I didn't even clean up after her unless I could fill the bag.
I got a rather terse note attached to my door that I either walked her to the designated doggy doo doo (there I said it) area or
face paying a 50 dollar fine for dumping in public.

Ash, the dog, doesn't like to go out in the rain. Which I can't figure out since she loves a bath. So we've had a week of rain...
that's a good thing. But it also means Ash won't go more than two feet from the front door. I even took the chance of taking her out off leash, hoping she would "run for it".
She only made a mad dash back to the door.

Now I suffer from fear of failure.
I'm long winded in posting. Especially when I'm talking about myself. That's why I chopped up my post-in case there was anyone with short attention span trying to read it.
But I'm short winded when walking. Feel the Burn Baby.
JUST DO IT! RIGHT? Well, it's still raining, Ash relieved herself on the kitchen floor, so I think I will walk back to bed.
I'm all for the rule of not being able to post here again-until I can pull my own weight.

OK This thread was getting to long and too confusing for this lyme brain.
Started another one in general.
HOpe to see you over there.
The idea is to just take one section and edit it daily on whether or not you moved the body that day.

Good for you! You'll be back Campus walking in no time!
Sure KAM, Give you an idea how to keep track of your days & you try to take the whole topic & run (or walk?) off with it to general.
Kidding aside, I hope the new format works out well for you over there.

TuTu was talking about getting losing threads? I've been looking for the IV thread for days. I finally found it right here on the front page (how embarassing ).
I'm too tired from cheering to post there now. Hopefully tomorrow.

Hey- I went downeeocean Wednesday/Thursday. Took Ash with me. Had this great fanatasy of me and my little dog romping on the beach.
No deal. I did get some exercise, though, when she ran as fast as she could to get away from the froth coming at us.
Other than that I walked 1/2 block to 7-11 to get some dog food, which I forgot.
Then I walked 1/4 block for some Chinese Food. Some construction guy advised me not to take her into the carry-out or she might end up on the menu.
Other than that I enjoyed listening to the rain pelt against the big window of our room as I looked over rooftops to the ocean.
Ash had fun jumping from one bed to the other. This was an exercise I elected not to participate in.
As I said, Ash doesn't like to go out in the rain. I stood in the lobby contemplating what to do and when I glanced around Ash was peeing on someone's luggage.
Fortunately the owners were not there. I made a quick decision to pick up Ash and head to the parking garage, where she happily peed on everyone's tires. I didn't feel so quilty about that.
