A friend and I were talking about pets the other day and it reminded me of a friend of mine (Jeannette) many years ago that had a yellow nape amazon parrot. It's a funny story and I thought I'd share.

When Jeannette's children were young the bird would sit by the window in the mornings. The kids were usually doing something when the bus came in the morning and Jeannette would always yell "BUS" when the bus arrived and the kids would run outside.

Well, over the course of time the bird learned to recognise the large yellow object and took over Jeannette's job of yelling "BUS".

Many, many years later, children grown, bird much older (and his vision worse) Jeannette now owned a craft store and kept the bird there during the day to keep her company.

One day a rather "fluffy" woman in a yellow dress came into the store. The poor bird started yelling "BUS, BUS, BUS" over and over and would not shut up! Horrified, Jeannette grabbed the cage and ran to the back storeroom. When she got back the woman was gone...go figure. [confused]

No offense to the "fluffy" readers among us...I'm a "fluffy" one myself. As you've read from previous postings of mine. The one symptom of any disease I've never had is weight loss...go figure! [bonk]

Have a good day all. Anyway, I think I'll stick with my 4 cats...at least I'm the only one who knows what they say! [Big Grin]
