Well, I've been going through multiple testing and finally getting somewhere with answers. I have high cortisol and ACTH levels.

After an eye exam on monday, during which the doc stated I needed an MRI today and called the neurologist. I had severe deficits in my right eye and loss of peripheral vision on the right side to both eyes.

MRI revealed a pituitary tumor! Well, that explains my severely messed up hormone symptoms, vision changes and mental problems.

I have an appointment with a cushings specialist endo doc at Shands in Gainesville, FL on Dec 7. He has been wonderful so far.

I emailed him yesterday about my situation and how I needed to take care of this before the end of the year due to medical leave/insurance/etc.

He emailed me back twice yesterday, reviewed my tests and MRI and set up for office to give me an appointment. Geese why can't all docs be that way?

Anyway, I'm pretty excited (and scared too) but maybe I can get somewhere now, have this surgically removed, and start getting my life back.

Thanks to everyone here for all their support. Even if I'm not actually a lymie. Tamera

Well, sorry you're having to deal with this, but I hope overall it's good news!

Do keep in mind that Lyme can cause problems with the pituitary. I'm on rGH for a pituitary deficiency.

I don't remember if you had a Western Blot through Igenex??

Keep us posted, OK?? [group hug]

I also HOPE this is the answer for your ills,,,but if its only a bump in the road,,,dont forget to stop back for MORE support!!!

Sorry you have to travel so far to get treated, but miles are secondary to regained health!! My guess is you get to see family while there anyway!!!How nice that will be!!

Did you know,,,reporting back on how your doing is mandatory??? [Big Grin] I remain--just don--
