Snout to snout...I crack a sleepy eye to see a cracked sleepy eye looking back. I feel another four pounds, ''scabbed'' onto me back while my big cat stomps across the bed. I wonder if a man's man should be sleeping with little critters and doze off with a mental picture of a big white dog in a line of children doing the bunny hop without missing a beat. I guess it's alright.

It is alright labrat. If there were no ticks, my outside only cat(s) would be inside with me every night, keeping me warm, fuzzy and happy sleeping, my preference would be that my one big 'ole hairy kitty "Fozzie" drape himself over the top of my head (hat style) while sleeping.

I've read stories where people's cats sleep like that, over their person's head. 'Tis a dream I have . . .

My old cat Christian sleeps on top of my head sometimes. My fat and fluffy cat Harley sleeps at my feet. My black cat Gink sleeps on my pillow next to my head. My fluffy white Catkin sleeps on my chest. My cat Diamond sleeps in the hallway basket on top of the bookcase and sometimes joins us on the bed. My cat Duchess, thank god, sleeps with my older daughter.

Sarah, I love the name Gink. Never heard it before, is it short for something else?

My Fozzie boy came with his name---neighbors moved away and left him. But not before I had asked the original owner where he got his name (years before she abandoned him) Apparently, the Muppets had a "Fozzie" on there. Before my time, or my kids either.

My next female fuz babies will have their choice of names: Lucy, Ruby or Trudy. [Smile]

Doo do doo doo do doo doo doo.

I'm having an EXTREME sensation of deja-vu right now. I think I asked you about Gink's name before Sarah, I really do. It had to do with ink, and midnight? Wow, I'm scaring myself. If I had asked you before about this name, it would've been while you posted under your other screen name. (and years ago!)

Oh wow. I rarely get these "been there" feelings, but I'm having one right now. Hmmm.

Just Julie, WHAT have you been SMOKIN'??? Oh, THAT'S right, you're from NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
way up there by Mendocino, eh??

(Just kiddin*)! Nope, nothing to do with either midnight OR ink!! It is a straight steal from the Dorrie the Little Witch books by Patricia Coombs, the stories of Dorrie the Little Witch and her black cat GINK(_)!

http://dorrie.jdfiles.org/dorriebooks.php

Wiki says: Dorrie the Little Witch Series

Dorrie is a little witch whose ``hat is always on crooked and her stockings never match.''

She has a black cat named Gink who follows her wherever she goes.

She lives with her mother, the Big Witch, and their house-hand, Cook. All of the 20 Dorrie books except Dorrie and the Haunted Schoolhouse are currently out of print.

Sheesh, youda had to wonder what the heck they put in my drink today at Starbuck$, eh? lol [Razz]

I'd say the instant I pushed "add reply" my deja vu feeling evaporated. It was honestly something to behold . . . truly a phenomenon I don't get to experience too too often.

You are so sweet to send such detailed references to your fur babies, Sarah! I appreciate it, I really do, having a bit of a rough day with the husband and all. . . Catkin looks a bit like a slimmer Fozzie, same coloring. And the name Gink, well ---- I just love it!
