PlanetThrive.com Unveils Citizen Journalism Program Press Release

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Long Beach, NY, United States, 05/12/2008 - Planet Thrive is actively seeking writers to contribute to their new citizen journalism program.

Planet Thrive, Inc. is seeking opinionated writers, environmental activists, passionate educators, and other hell-raisers for their Community Soapbox, a section of their social networking community that allows approved members to publish news reports, articles, essays, and commentary to a nationally syndicated audience that includes major search engines such as Google News. Contributors will receive Google Adsense revenue for published articles, and other benefits.

Planet Thrive is offering this new feature in an effort to increase public awareness and effect social change on issues that have been noticeably absent from mainstream culture, such as invisible illnesses (like Lyme Disease, Myalgic Encephalitis, Fibromyalgia, Chemical Sensitivity), natural healthcare, the dangers of the ubiquitous use of chemicals in modern culture, the healing potential of plants and herbs, and different aspects of sustainable living. Experts in health-related fields, grassroots environmental activists, and aspiring writers may regularly submit their work on a wide range of subjects to increase their exposure as experts in their fields.

Healthy home expert Debra Lynn Dadd, environmental activist Derrick Jensen, and Holistic Health Counselor Jena la Flamme have all signed on to the program already, as have a number of Planet Thrive regulars. Planet Thrive's founder, Julie Genser, says: ``Ours is a very grassroots citizen journalism program that offers both well-known experts and aspiring Planet Thrive activists an opportunity to get their voice heard nationally on issues they are passionate about.''

To apply to the program, send an e-mail (to planetthrive @ gmail . com) telling why you want to be a Community Soapbox contributor. Copy-and-paste a sample of your work in your email or include a link to previously published articles. Also include which areas of interest you would like to write about (ie conscious parenting, non-toxic lifestyle, etc.) and allow 5-15 business days for your application to be reviewed. You will receive an e-mail letting you know if you've been accepted as a Community Soapbox Contributor.

Planet Thrive is a grassroots community for personal wellness with a focus on the health-environment connection.

Find out more about the benefits of becoming a Community Soapbox contributor today! [woohoo]

You might want to post this in ACTIVISM, too.
