I keep trying different shampoo's/conditioner to help with my fine, dry, limp, curly, frizzy hair.

I have yet to find one that helps.

Suggestions??

I don't have thin/curly hair (I'm Japanese) but I have found that Aubrey Organics is very gentle and feels good.

I like the one that is called Honeysuckle Rose. The conditioner is very thick (so don't need too much) but it does get hard to squeeze later on as you are almost done with the bottle.

And they are paraben-free!

You can get them on Vitacost.

Add a little water, Penguin!! That's my favorite too, kam. Aubrey's Honeysuckle Rose.

Have you tried Garnier Fructis?? (full of junk though)

I have the same type of hair, KAM.

Frustrating to work with, I know.

I have been using a variety of different products as I feel I have to switch it up.

What I find works the best isn't so much the products, but abstinence!

I wash my hair only once every week.

Between washings I do not let it get wet in the shower, wear a shower cap as it seems to dry it out if I do not.

I use dry shampoo in between washings, if needed to tide me over.

My hair, although not as shiney and lusterous as I would prefer, has definitely improved from sticking to this routine.

I was using WEN hair products, and my hair looked great---but then did not like them any longer ---- leaves my hair looking limp and yuck, so stopped using it -- esp since it's so costly.

WEN products are great and gluten-free.

I like the commercials for WEN

I did add the shampoo and conditioner from Vitacost to my order the 1st of the month.

My hair doesn't get shampoo'd much as I am not well enough to take a shower and shampoo it as often I would like.

But, I will keep that in mind.

What robbiem says abstinence, 100 %. you could do a 4 day w/o begining 2 days before your 2 days off. So on the first day try dampening with filtered H2O. This is a vary good start
Omitting the chem's. Do you use styling products. Maybe use any pump spray w/o alcohol. Or make one make as small amount in case measurements can very. Use scented oil with a drop at a time top add 2-3 oz. H2O in small very small spray bottle!!! Shake durring aplication. Oil floats and it also slicks on the inside of bottle. Hopefully your own body oils will have a chance to the ends. First thing you need is a all natural Boars Hair hairbrush and use it every night. It removes the days wear of what ever. And it will help distribute the bodies natural oils. You didnt mention any electric irons etc... Lavender oil is light. Better hair days ahead

I too have this type of hair except not too curly. I just use cheap shampoo, VO5 or something.

But after it dries (air or dryer) I put coconut oil on to tame the frizz and dryness. Works great!

I tried using coconut oil as a conditioner. I'll try again after it is dry and see how that goes.

hair was like straw when I used the shampoo. Conditioner helped but hair is still fly away.

Thinking I might need to stop coloring it and just be gray to see if that helps.

I am not able to color it myself anyway.

A friend does when she comes to visit twice a year so I usually am half gray and half color.

I used non toxic hair color on it..but seems it is not good for the hair.

I have the same hair and its always frizzy and dry. I use a very deep conditioner every time I wash and only wash every 3 days. Lately I've been using Biolage Hydratherapie Conditioning Balm. I tried a natural brand recently called Naked Naturals Shea Butter and Avacado Smoothing Conditioner and I like it so far (drugstore.com). It doesn't have any sulfates which are bad for our hair type and it made my hair soft.

I also read that oils are best for our hair type. I remember when I was a teen I used Alberto V05 hot oil treatments and they helped a lot. Good Luck!
