Not working these days. One kid likes camp, the other doesn't. Neither wants to join swim team this year.

I was thinking summer roadtrips. Monday morning we leave, Friday night we come back. That way home with hubby on the weekends.

Anybody ever done this?

My children are grown - but this sounds like a wonderful idea.

Maybe go somewhere near an airport and hubby could fly/drive and meet you for a day or weekend...

have fun!

When my daughter was young, we traveled on a moments notice. I packed drinks, grinders and sandwiches in the cooler with tons of ice, for the road,, while she (over)packed. We still have laughs about the things that happened on those trips and it's 30 years later.

I suggest having a lot of maps and an idea of where you want, and don't want, to eat, drink and sleep. AAA may not be a bad idea either.

I would do a lot of research on camps!!! Whether it's local (day trips) or (overnight trips).

MOST of these camps have young kids working for them, they have no idea what a (tick) is.

Even the ones that have adults, and know how dangerous ticks/woods are, they still tend to venture into the woods and high grass areas.

When our kids are not with us, they'll do any all the other kids are doing.

Sorry but, please be very careful when it comes to camps!
