Recently, a member sent me a rather harsh private message objecting to a term I used in one of my posts. (I have had lyme for 23 years which has effected every aspect of my life and have been a lyme disease group leader and activist).

I accepted the admonition and was composing an appreciative reply. I then saw the last line of the private post to me which teetered on abusive.

Still, I saw the person's point and was ready to reply to the person with my nice reply. When I hit the send button, a message appeared saying that the member was not accepting private posts.

I am at a loss for how to contact a moderator on this site. But I do believe if someone sends a person a private post, then the sender must be open for a private reply.

This protocol must be changed: If sending a private post, then the sender should not be able to block a reply.

Thank you for your input.

We'll Win (hopefully soon)

We'll Win,
Apparently the offending user sent you a PM then added your "user name" to their Ignore List preventing you from sending them a PM.
I suggest that you add their "user name" to your Ignore List.
These functions are in place and there is no need for us to change the protocol.
If you would like me to further investigate this incident, please email me the offending "user name".
[email protected]
Thanks and take care,
