Trying to sort out my thoughts and problems with computer things.
Not able to get online yesterday and have been having various problems since downloading a new virus protection program.
So, I deleted the virus protection program and my AOL program and other programs.
Able to get on line this am obviously.
But, I have down loaded two new virus protection programs and I am still getting a notice that I don't have virus protection??
I also am now using fox fire instead of my AOL program and not so sure that was a smooth move.
I miss not being able to put frequently visited sites on my tool bar.
It seems I have to close out one window in order to open another.
Can't see a place for adding favorites.
I have yahoo toolbar on my foxfire program.
Ah HA I just saw the do you want foxfire to remember this password for this site so that should help.
That was another issue.
Ok enough issues right now.

OK I figured out while downloading my 3rd virus protection that the programs are downloading but not installing.
When I went to remove programs...none of them were there.

OK Got the virus protection thing accomplished. I hope.
Those programs I downloaded showed up on my desktop.
I needed to click on them to install the program.
So, I deleted all of them with the exception of one which I installed.

you computer genius you; good for you!
i had my tower/printer into best buy 4 times in 10 days; wouldn't print!
finally resolved yesterday, 2 printers had been deleted but the system did NOT recognize this; many worked 1-1.5 hrs. daily for my visits.
can't live without them; but i hate it when they are smarter than us! shaking my head!

Betty: I had on/off printing problems and updated
the drivers and have no problems now. It was easy
go to your printer's website. Look for driver
updates find you model. Download update. Install on
your computer. Then Run installation.
Kam: I am just getting use to firfox, did you find that "bookmark" is "favorites"?

CathyMary...that is good to know.
Betty...smiling...it was as if you were talking in person to me!!
Computer is still shutting itself off. But, cable for TV also has interference lately.
It just doesn't shut it self off. The channel I am watching just goes blank.
Still trying to figure out how to put favorites on the task bar of the foxfire program.
Don't see a favorites icon like I had with AOL.
Still getting AOL as my home site without the task bar.
I might just go back and download the AOL task bar.
I was able to customize the google web page with lots of fun stuff.
But, I can only get it if I click on gmail and then click on web.
And I can't seem to figure out how to add my favorites to that page either.
Thankful I am able to make do for now.
Oops. Just read your line on bookmark is favorites for foxfire. OK Will play around with that.
I did download something...Fox Saver...it has beautiful pics on it.
I also added pics of National Parks on the Google web page. That is fun.

The downloaded anti-virus programs were fake. That's probably where you got your virus. They don't show on the uninstall screen because they are not real anti-virus programs.
