There is a link to a letter that all you have to do is fill in your name, address, email, and phone and it is automatically sent to your congress people.
They are also asking people to flood the phone lines of their congressmen/women on Sept 8 and let them know you do not want the FDA's new guidelines regarding vitamins and supplements to take effect.
Alarming draconian legislation regarding the FDA's ability to regulate basic vitamins, nutritional supplements and even juices as a "drug" is being snuck in as a rider to an unrelated bill in the Congress [under Docket Number 2006D-0480 ].

Here's Dr Mercola on the issue of the FDA potentially pulling thousands of supplements. This is in total violation of the intent of the 1994 DSHEA law protecting supplements, a law that happened because people rose up against FDA bullying.
We have to do so again, as a country. The DSHEA law did not intend for the FDA to pull our access to supplements. The FDA wants to treat them like dangerous chemicals get treated, like high dose testing. But that's not what dietary supplements are about. Besides, more people die from drug problems than supplement problems.
Mercola wants us to call, fax or send letters to our Congressional reps.

Thx, Rivendell. We need to see everyone here get involved in this - I think it's a rare person here who wouldn't take supplements!

Direct Link to the petition, but really? Isn't there an ONLINE petition? I'm a bedbound lymie. The need to get out to get involved would eliminate me in the first round! Help?
