National Capital Lyme sent out this message:

I edited the message to take out her name and city.

As many of our members are aware, various state medical boards have targeted physicians who treat chronic Lyme disease, (sometimes called Lyme Literate Medical Doctors, or LLMDs) for investigation, sanction and license revocation.

While the National Capital Lyme Disease Association encourages patients to share their experiences, its policy is to not endorse any specific physician or treatment. However, many of our members report that they owe their ability to have regained a functioning and meaningful life to an LLMD.

Medical board proceedings can be career threatening and extremely expensive for the physician involved and NatCapLyme has frequently received requests for financial support. As an IRS recognized tax-exempt charity, NatCapLyme cannot respond to these requests. However, it has decided to post physician support requests so that concerned citizens who wish to respond will have the information

Here is a link to such a post from the Defense Trust of Dr. Z of Virginia to read or download.

The message from the trust fund states that Dr Z and her medical modalities of treating Lyme disease and clinical diagnosis has come under attack by the Virginia Medical Board. Should you wish to provide her assistance, instructions are provided.
