PLEASE DISTRIBUTE:

Hi folks,
The following post is from Dr. Jones. I hope that we can again show up in significant numbers to support Dr. Jones. I know that he derives a strong sense of support from our quiet presence.
Ellen

Charles Ray Jones, MD

September 12, 2006

Dear Valued Friends and Patients;

I have just heard from Attorney Pollack that the next scheduled date for the continuation of my hearings is Thursday, September, 28, 2006 at 10:00a.m. in
the Legislative Office Building, Hartford, CT, Room 1E. As all of you know, this has been a rather tedious and difficult fight for the long term antibiotic treatment of Lyme disease and coinfections in children. However, this hearing is particularly important. The mother and the two children for which this hearing is all about will be testifying in regards to the outcome of my Lyme Disease treatment for them. The mother is very sympathetic to my situation and wants to help me in any way to ensure success and continued medical practice. But again, I need your support as well. If you are able to attend my 5th hearing on September 28, 2006 for 2 or 3 hours, I would greatly appreciate your presence. The children in question are happy, well and will demonstrate that my work is worthy and correct.

Please help me to continue fighting this very important pediatric medical issue. Thousands of children will benefit from a positive outcome of my hearings, and other physicians will be able to continue practicing without fear that they too may find themselves against a medical board for less than appropriate
charges.

Thank you for your continued support, and your presence at this particular hearing would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Charles Ray Jones, MD

Dr. Jones has asked YOU to attend his hearing on Sept. 28 at 10 am. We have NOT shown up in significant numbers for any of his hearings.
Please share.

Dr. Jones has asked YOU to attend his hearing on Sept. 28 at 10 am. It will be shorter than the past hearings, about 3 or 4 hours. Will you be there?
http://www.lymesite.com/drjones.htm

Directions to the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT; location of Dr. Jones' September 7th & 28th hearings can be found at:
www.cga.ct.gov/olm/directions2.asp Skip down to the 300 Capitol Avenue info.

What do you owe Dr. Jones & ALL LLMDs?
What do you, your family, friends and relatives owe Dr. Charles Ray Jones?

We owe him everything. He saved our daughter's life, literally. He GREATLY improved our son's life. What would have happened to our kids, and yours, if Dr. Jones wasn't the selfless GIANT of a man he is? What do you owe him?

A day trip to CT to show him you care, financial support?

I owe him way more than a few days spent attending his hearings to let him know he is supported, WAY more.

Maybe Dr. Jones hasn't treated anyone in your family or anyone you know. Do you still owe him your physical presence at his hearings and your financial support? He is fighting the fight for ALL LLMDs. EVERY LLMD deserves our support in time of need.

It astounds me that highest attendance for any of his hearings has been about 100 people! I know he has saved THOUSANDS of kid's lives. At his last hearing...just over FIFTY people!

Yes, there are some good reasons to not show up. There are also excuses for not showing up. Are your reasons for not attending solid or excuses? Is it impossible to attend or uncomfortable?

It is fantastic to send a check. Thank you for your financial support. Without your financial support he can't fight the fight. I know he greatly appreciates your financial contributions and your letters of support. Now let's start attending his hearings to give him a visual of the support we have for him. It breaks my heart to see such small turn out at his hearings and I think it must be hurtful to him as well. Though he would never say so...

It may not be easy to show up at the hearings....but, IMHO, we OWE him. We owe it to Dr. Jones and ALL LLMDs to support his fight financially and by showing up at his hearings.

You might be surprised to find it is easier than you anticipated to attend his hearings. Give it a try. Show up. Give him the support he deserves.

Sincerely,
Kay Lyon

Hiya,
Below is some information abourt going to the hearing, most of which is plagiarized from Tincup's research from an earlier hearing.

Please try to come. At the last hearing the medical board ruled that patients who were not involved in the case for which Dr. Jones has been charged could not testify about how Dr. Jones has helped them.

(I understand that this is the usual ruling in medical board hearings, so I can almost keep from getting irate about it).

So I hope that you will all show up at the hearing to bear silent witness to the love and gratitude that thousands of patients have for Dr. Jones.

An overflow crowd traveling in just to sit respectfully listening to testimonty will get our supportive message across.

This hearing should be easier to attend, since it doesn't start until 10am and will last only about 3 hours. There will be testimony from the mother and children in whose case Dr. Jones was charged. They are very supportive of Dr. Jones and did NOT make the charges.

HERE IS THE TRAVEL INFORMATION FROM TINCUP THAT I PROMISED::

The hearing will start at 10am in the Legislative
Office Building at 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford at
10a.m.

Driving directions are at
www.cga.ct.gov/olm/directions2.asp

Greyhound and Peter Pan busses and Amtrak trains stop
within a very short cab ride from the Legislative
Office Building (or walking distance for those who
can).

If you want to arrive the day before, you might want
to stay at the Days Inn in East Hartford.

HOTEL:
Days Inn- East Hartford, CT
1-860-289-4950.
333 Roberts Street
East Hartford, CT 06108

If you make a reservation at the hotel, please let
them know you belong to the Lyme group. Last time the rate was $64 for a double room, but you need to ask for that rate to get it.

Cab ride from train station or bus station to the Days
Inn in East Hartford, CT (approx 3 miles) is
approximately $14.00, plus tip. Cost can be shared if
others are riding along.

FOOD:
Nick's Pizza... 527-1111 open late and they deliver.
Good deal if you are tired and don't want to go out.
Big menu selection. Menu was at front desk at the East
Hartford Days Inn.

Margarita's Mexican Restaurant- across the street from
the EAST Hartford Days Inn 860-289-7212

CAB:
Cab ride.. Dial a Ride Taxi- 860-796-8105..

I hope to see you there.
Ellen

The directions don't print correctly from the CT website. The end of each line is cut off. I cut and pasted the directions into Word to print them correctly. Here are the directions:

Directions to the Legislative Office Building The Legislative Office Building is located at 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford. Traveling on I-84 East - Take Exit 48, Capitol Avenue, get into the right lane of the exit ramp. At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Capitol Avenue. Take the first right past the Legislative Office Building, proceed to the back of the garage and take a right to enter the garage using the left hand lane (employees) or the right hand lane (visitors).Traveling on I-84 West - Take Exit 48, Asylum Street, at the end of the exit ramp turn right at the light onto Asylum Street. At the YWCA turn left onto Broad Street, proceed through two stop lights, immediately after the Armory building take the first left and then another left at the end of the short access road. Follow this road around the garage to the back and take a right to enter the garage using the left hand lane (employees) or the right hand lane (visitors). Traveling on I-91 North or South - Take Exit 29A, Capitol Avenue, proceed through the Pulaski Circle at the end of the long exit road. Take a right on Elm Street and turn left at Trinity Street.Go past the Capitol building and the I-84 entrance ramp, all on your right. Take the first right past the Legislative Office Building, proceed to the back of the garage and take a right to enter the garage using the left hand lane (employees) or the right hand lane (visitors). Parking - Limited public parking is available on the first floor of the parking garage. There is a connector to the Legislative Office Building at the roof level. On-street metered parking and commercial parking lots are also nearby.

Dr. Jones hearing: 10:00 am room 1E

Hoping to see you there.
hats
