I thought it would be fun to start a thread where people can come post one "Good" thing that happened to them today.
Sometimes we get so bogged down with negativity that we forget to take notice of all the good things that are happening to us.
You can only write something that was "Good".
It will be fun to look back and read these as we add on.
I will start...
I seemed to have more energy than I did yesterday. This allowed me to accomplish a lot more in a shorter amount of time, thereby allowing me to enjoy reading a book outside in the brilliant California Sunshine.
Your turn don't be shy, we all have good things to share.

GUESS WHAT? Our favorite 20 yr. old single niece called and stopped by suddenly where we got to babysit her 6 wk. old son, chase! hubby had NOT seen him yet, so we got a chance to bond and make memories with him. when she got back, we all visited a good hr.
wow, what a powerful set of lungs he has!! well, good and healthy, but allergic to many types of diapers and ointment for his sensitive skin plus can't drink mom's milk; formula only. she was saying it was $400/mo. for formula plus diapers, etc. uffda.
anyway it was fun to play grandma betty for 2 hrs. her mom was my late sister who died at age 41 of breast cancer in liver.
so we both can't wait until next time. i lucked out and didn't have to change diapers; scared only because of all his sensitivities to him.

Looks like the state income tax people are going to be sending me money this year, instead of the reverse. Nice.
And recently my neighbor helped me open a door that had been accidentally locked. Saved a big locksmith visit bill.

looks like you are rolling in the money today Lou!!! Good for you.
Betty, I am so happy for you looks like you had a great visit with your grandbaby and neice.
Here's my good news for today:
Just found out my son was nominated to be interviewed for a full scholarship to Boys State and Camp Royal here in California.
He just texted me and is so thrilled. He really wants this. He is a Junior in High School and works very hard academically, volunteering and is a decent athlete.
I am so proud of him. He talks about going into something that will change the world i/e a cure for Lyme. He wrote a persuasive paper last year on the IDSA and ILADS viewpoints of Lyme Disease.
He really got the kids thinking and asking lots of questions.(it did not hurt that he is in Debate Club) Of course he got everyone leaning towards ILADS and was able to use me as his example. His Honors Biology teacher was blown away.
I have to keep faith that we have a bright future ahead of us.

I made it to the YMCA for the second time and did these wonderful arthritic exercises in a heated pool.
There's nothing better than a heated pool for exercising. I love it. I've also been doing gentle yoga at the Y.
So I'm loving life & YMCA.

I made it through a tough week at work (33 hours).
I also found out my child in kindergarten got all his words
Right on his spelling test (He's been struggling).
Now that was really good news.

Well, I managed to finish cleaning the house for our small group meeting.
Of course, now half of our small group is out sick, but we're having the other family come just for dinner and games.
Wow, it's nice to be having PEOPLE over for once!!!

Last night I caught myself singing (actually it was a futile attempt at singing) while in the shower. As that hasn't happened in many moons, it was a startling experience. And it was wonderful!!! In spite of the pain inflicted on my ears:)

I'll admit. It has been really, really hard to find something good for the past week or so.. but I've got a good thing today to report!
A few weeks ago I bought a 6 month subscription to a newspaper because the guy said there were LOTS of savings coupons in it. And the deal, well, it was WAY cheap!
I KNOW.. I can't see to read the paper.. but it was a good deal and with a magnifying glass I can see coupons sometimes. And I use newspaper for cleaning windows and stuff... and I do recycle it too.
It was $10.00 for a 6 months subscription for the BIG Sunday paper.
But... I paid my ten dollars for the subscription to a guy on the side of the road who had nothing but a card table set up.
A week later I didn't get the paper. And the next week, I still didn't get the paper. Hmmmmmm???
TODAY I GOT IT!
And I will save about $12.00 using the coupons I picked out!
So not only a good deal... but a true deal.... and.. I will get my original ten dollars back the first week using the coupons.
AND... now I feel more like a grandma with my coupons!
I just love reading all these good things. I was just checking in this morning and read all these.
They say that positive thoughts can really do a lot of good for your health and I believe it. The things everyone is writng just makes me beam. I am so happy to hear these stories and please keep them coming. We can start a positve trend by doing this and I really believe it can unite us all in one way or another.

I took my daughter to get an up-do for a formal dance.
We spent good quality time together.
I gave her a pedicure and manicure and we giggled and had the best conversations. She even let me do her make-up.
Gosh, she looked simply gorgeous and I felt so special that she let me pick out her nail polish, makeup etc....(for those of you who don't have a teenage daughter, you can't possibly undrstand how significant this is)...
I guess the thing I love the most is that we are so close and can talk about everything and anything and that will always be enough to pull me through a tough day.

I went for a long hike yesterday! The first real hike in quite awile. My DH and I took it slowly and took lots of nature pictures along the way.
I'm paying a little today, but I don't care, because I was out doing something that I used to do all the time. For once this desease was not able to stop me.

Not able to read what others wrote. But, really need to focus on what is positive right now as I have had a set back.
1. Housekeeper provided by the county for one hour a week was able to :
wash my down pillows and comforter
So good to have them smelling clean instead of smelling like vomit and stinky poop from set back
she also was able to put clean sheets on the bed and I kind of put a comforter/bedspread on...hoping ot have the strength to actually get it on the bed today instead of how it is now
able to get an avocado in me last night and take sleeping meds and drink some water and take xango.
able to take a shower last night and wash hair.
but was not able to dry it so it is looking clean but really weird from sleeping on wet hair.

I am almost shy to tell you that I am in Mexico and this morning had enough energy to do a very slow six laps in the pool. I am sad that I can't take the sun (abx) and that I am still fatigued from Lyme, but this is paradise and I am one lucky lady.

SURPRISE...finally tackled lifting our heavyweight recliner sofa up and tipped over to get ALL my popcorn kernels not eaten and the YEAR of newspapers and magazines that fall off the top where i neatly put them!! uffda; embarrassing.
now to rest for the next month.
after vacuuming, got a phone call from electrolux service rep. they'd be in my area next tuesday and would stop by to give my vacuum it's ANNUAL checkup.
now it's 11 years old, and 1st time i'd heard about this detail!!
they'd bring more bags/special bag to get rid of extra stuff in air. told him i'm fine; i don't vacuum often due to my health.
well, when my guy is there, i'll him vacuum YOUR HOUSE!!
told him you should have called 30 minutes earlier and saved me a back ache!

wow melanie; you're just so popular; enjoy yourself and all your goodies!!
hubby sent me to buy my flowers today; i love carnations & mums since they last a long time; so i picked out 2 "flower market" special bouguets for $5 each.
then i noticed a SMALL sign saying; buy 1 GET 1 FREE; so i got $10 for $5 and tax!! i told all around me about this super deal to find their coupon book.
then 2 - 16 to 18 yr. old boys came in looking at roses. so i told them bout this special deal since they were "inexperienced". "how'd you guess that"! all were very appreciative!
then on my way home, i took in my flowers to my widowed girlfriend, and left her 4 stems/greenery in a bud vase! earlier i emailed her a huge bouquet in an email. she said it would be the only flowers she would get so i decided to surprise her!
so with the 2 bouguets boughten, there were 3 bud vases full of flowers to enjoy; hers and my 2 !!
