They would take turns hovering over my head while I threw the bread up to them.
This was majical-they never bumped into another bird-they would look you straight in the eye and wait for you to throw the bread.
It was such a rush-my heart was racing. I needed that so bad. Now I have to find somewhere to find some really cheap bread-this will be something I do often!

my husband left me the nice car to drive today instead of the kiddie mobile that I drive. I woke up and he was off to work and my auto was gone. I looked in the garage and his was there with a note that said enjoy.(he knows how much I like driving his car as it still smells new)
I know this sounds silly, but it was nice to drive the newer sedan and more importantly it was nice to know that he was thinking of me at 6am....

I finally started feeling a little better. This is the only time in the last... oh, 10 years that I've been able to say, "I felt good three days in a row!" 10 years ago I was only 13 years old. It feels nice to see how healthy young people feel. I usually feel and walk like I'm at least 70. I'm already going downhill again, but this encourages me. I finally feel hopeful.

Got to cuddle with my 7 month old grandbaby last night for a little bit. Even though she had cold snoogers everywhere and screamed when I wiped her nose...She still smelled sweet and was a cuddle bunny!

I was reminded how lucky I am that I have lyme and not cancer.
My husband smiled at me when he got home.
My Grandsons got so excited because I bought them a special kind of yogurt they love.
My daughter called me 3 times today, as usual.
I saw the spring flowers coming up in the garden.

i'm going to copy my post i sent to my friends here about our sunday activities celebrating my 60th early!
ladies,
i had so much fun with you 3 yesterday starting with:
* THANK YOU for my wonderful meal at golden coral!! wow, i didn't have another thing to eat after nancy's cake/strawberries/coolwhip desert at her home until 2 am when i had my nightly popcorn!!
* reiman gardens ... great music and dancing, and i loved watching people especially the little kids dressed up and dancing to the music.
* my lovely cards from each of you. nancy, jack said on yours; she sure puts a lot of time into making them, doesn't she! he was impressed.
* jane, thanks for the lovely sentiments you took the time to write too.
* thank you for the surprise gift of $30 gift certificate to target!! i'm going to see what they have on sale for new slacks/blouse or BOTH!
* jane, sorry you had to leave early to dog sit; if at anytime you'd like to borrow my dvd and watch my lyme disease documentary at your own home, let me know and i'll get it to you at the clinic ok.
* nancy and carolyn, thanks for taking the time to watch the entire 1 hr. 45 min. UNDER OUR SKIN documentary with me !! that meant a lot to me for you to understand better what we chronic lyme patients go thru and my political lyme activism i do daily here.
* glad you both felt it was exceptionally done, and it kept your interest the entire time.
* jane, we were just going to watch 1 hr. of it yesterday, but they both were so interested the time passed by quickly.
* nancy, your chair felt so good; i watched this on big screen at library in those HARD PLASTIC CHAIRS. way to long to sit in those uncomfortable things.
* can't wait to get out later in warm weather and drive to pay house taxes; hubby's even agreed to come along! a rarity...
* but most of all, thanks for being my LIFELONG FRIENDS, who have accepted me as is with all the exceptional things you put up with on my lyme sensitivities:
* no lights/glare/reflection; LOW volume on tv; and chemical smells.
* i was blessed to have you as classmates and friends for 42 years AFTER we graduated !!
* have a great week ladies; you made mine yesterday!!
And, Betty Happy Birthday to you!!!! Your post was wonderful and it sounds like you have some great friends to share it with.
I love this thread as it's so nice to read something happy and uplifting!
Thanks

good things happened today/yesterday since i post late at night....
.. our investor called us with a super deal of a des moines hospital having 6.5% interest rates on a bond and GUARANTEED FOR 9 YEARS but we had to move fast on this one. we took it! needless to say all last year and especially LAST MONTH...lost big time!!
.. washington dc called...iowa's federal house rep tom latham's HEAD OF HEALTH ISSUES, aaron burnett, called and talked 10 minutes.
he was calling about a recent email i sent them about SSDI and the difficult process of getting it, etc. this must have been ERIC's LYME CAMPAIGN on the change.org obama site.
eric wrote a post there and sent it; we could just go with his, edit to what WE wanted, or completely rewrite it.
then change.org had it set up with copies going to BOTH STATE/FEDERAL offices of all senators and house reps!
so i got this call from latham's office and an email from sen. tom harkin's office BOTH ON SAME SUBJECT!!
then i talked to aaron in great detail about our lyme disease bills in congress, the new hr 1179 no., and i was very grateful to tom latham for co-sponsoring it last year, and hoped he would do it again this year.
"lyme disease is on the for front in dc! we're very well aware of it"!
i stated last fall that a lyme org gave UNDER OUR SKIN DVD AND CURE UNKNOWN BOOK to each of all 535 senators and legislatures.
was he aware of latham had watched the dvd and read the book? betty, we get TONS OF STUFF here daily everyone is sending us; we can't look at it all.
i asked that someone at least view the dvd and they would be shocked as to what they see.
"no, we're hearing from iowans galore on lyme disease so know alot what is going on".... something to that effect.
he did say he's check with folks there to make sure they did get them, and if NOT, get back to me!
my entire post is in activism in tincup's FEDERAL BILL post.
... then the iowa dept. of blind returned my call. they gave a program 2 wks. ago at our hospital and brought SOME of their resources for blind/macular degeneration/low vision folks.
i told them i'm interested in a full page magnifier in order to read PJ LANGHOFF'S small print and NO doublespacing book, THE BAKERS DOZEN.
so had to go thru many questions and then she'd give my request to her supr. within ONE week, one of the HOME TEACHERS would call me to set up an appt. to bring magnifiers here to see what would work best and see what my lighting is like!
i asked that they don't wait too long; i need the HELP NOW instead of after i finish pj's book.
i'm having one heck of a time; huge challenge reading small print, 1 paragraph right after another and LONG SOLID BLOCK TEXTS ... PU. not good for this extreme lyme patient.
then ran 1 errand and got another important matter taken care of today. had to get out my driver's license and discovered; it's time to RENEW IN NEXT 4 WEEKS!!

Wow, you must have more energy than 10 of me!
Thank you for working tirelessly for lyme sufferers!
Even if I don't live in Iowa I appreciate all that you do. Thanks!!!!!!!!
Hope you get the full page magnifier TODAY.
On another note...something good that happened today....I just got up an hour ago....
it is supposed to be over 60 degrees outside today, so that's great!
I didn't feel as exhausted when I woke up today, so that felt good.
I am going to watch my 2 beautiful grandsons (ages 2 and 5) for a little while today.
My husband gets up early and works 12+ hrs a day to take care of me and anyone else in our family who needs it...he adores our Grandsons and always makes time for them.
Before he goes to work, he kisses me, tells me to have a good day and asks me if I'm ok. We usually talk twice during the day on the phone.
He is a great guy and I am thankful for that.

dek, thanks for your lovely note; nope, i don't have much energy but i STRETCH IT as far as i can, and don't do anything out of town normally.
thought that was special about your husband asking if you are OK before leaving for work and calling twice a day!! xoxox ... now; that's LOVE; isn't is grand ?
i woke up after only 4 hrs. sleep since my cpap nostrel pillows were NOT sitting correct in my nose and kept leaking air.
so i was laying there awake listening to my radio which is on all day except for evening hours w/hubby watching tv.
they were having a contest; didn't get all the details but JAZZ performers will be on campus on 3-27; so i called in and WON 2 FREE TICKETS next friday night. will take 1 of my girlfriend classmates with me.
i just called our local news station to find out about the march 23 HEALTH MEETING that obama is having 5 nationwide; iowa is one of them.
obama won't be here but our gov. chet culver will head this up next monday am, 10-12 at our polk county convention center. so i'm waiting to hear back how to get a ticket to go since they picked a small arena for this important issue of all americans.
i'm NOT up mornings, but i'll make special arrangements and make sure my CLOCK IS SET RIGHT this time; i missed my grand nephews' baptism by 20 minutes 2 wks. ago.

Congrats bettyg on winning the Jazz tickets!
I had a good day...it was 75 degrees here today!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a long winter! It's supposed to be cold again starting tomorrow.
I spent 2 hours playing outside with my 2yr old and 5 yr old Grandsons...playing baseball, digging in the dirt for dinosaur bones, riding bikes, drawing with sidewalk chalk, etc.
My husband stopped for a little while (in his suit) and played with the kids then went back to work.
It felt good to get outside.
It definitely helps to have beautiful weather!

I like it when I meet a stranger who is so cheery and sweet. Especially if they are in a job where they are going to meet many people and inject a little brightness into their day. They fit well with their job, essentially. I met a nurse today who was like that, and I think it's especially important for a nurse to be that way, but so few are naturally great at it. It's highly unlikely I'll ever see her again, but cool knowing that she is there.

I got a letter from her today telling me what a great mom I am.
She told me how much she appreciated everything I had done for her all her life.
Four pages of why she loved me. She is my only child.
She signed off the letter "Take care of yourself, Mom, until I can take care of you".
No reason for the letter. It totally came out of the blue and made my day, not to mention my year.
Anyone who has a teenager who "knows everything" and you just are at your wits end. It changes.
That was her. I always said, she would have breast fed herself is she could have.
There is light at the end of the teen-age tunnel.
Been there and am reaping the rewards of hanging in there. It's a great day. Love trumps all.

here's a quick summary of my GOOD week including my 60th birthday on march 24 !!!
actually, it has become an ALL WEEK EVENT! ****************************************************
monday ... obama's health fair in des moines where i hoped to address chronic lyme disease/co-infections, but NOT enough time allowed; 2 hrs. vs. 4 hrs.
tuesday .. BIG 60! doing all paperwork to own this beautiful red van; our 1st ever. picking up my FREE BIRTHDAY CAKE by winning on local radio daily BD contest and buying my flowers. plus another business appt. there at home when i arrived. ate out for lunch.
wed. ... met lymenetter, BUGABOO, for a wonderful all you can eat buffet, and pigged out big time. it was the quickest 1.5 hrs. plus visit with both of us talking non-stop to the point our hot food was cold as we ate.
took some of my flowers, pink carnations & orange roses to my soon to be 97 yr. old aunt; she loved them and visited her 1 hr. plus; then stopped by my step-son's place showing him the van and having a quick .5 hr. visit. he has always remembered my birthday in his mind and calls me that night annually!
my step-daughter didn't recogize me this year; her husband is a CONTROL freak! we no longer have her current phone no. or her husband gets the calls ... see phone call is from me, and just hangs up!
thursday ... hospital weekly health education program; will be PARKINSON'S; dr. is my hubby's and i hope to tlak to him later. in fact, 1 yr. he let me bring in LYME INFO BROCHURES and leave in his rooms for folks waiting for him to come in.
also going to get my feet worked on by our homeward RNs at senior center, and at 60 you can eat there for $3.50; so think i'll try that meal too.
friday ... hope to finally get to nursing home again after 1 month. i WON TICKETS FOR JAZZ.... BLUE NOTES concert locally, so plan to take a girlfriend to that. i may have to take my construction ear protectors if music gets too loud for my LYME EARS!
right now, nothing schedule for sat/sun, and boy do i need to sleep in and just REST! this is way to much for this 60 yr. old snow white!
yep, did you all know i'm "snow white" hair and the 7 drawfs are me too:
happy, sleepy, dopey...lyme fog you know; doc...sending out my llmd names/newbie info; GRUMPY ... no need to explain that one!; SNEEZY...do that all night long when sleeping! and bashful .... back in my early days of growing up!
i hope that was their names; no little kids to read story books too to refresh my neuro lyme mind!
sat...i ended up going to our city's energy fair, and boy, did they have FOOD there!
really thick meat/cheese sandwich that was like 18" long and cut into 1" strips by 4" wide! lots to eat; potato chips, cookies which i brought home to hubby, snow cones, both regular and CARMET CORN !! interesting displays on geo-thermal etc. and i got a yellow city hat from power crews!! i should have seen if they had any in LYME GREEN!
so my busy and fun week; now to get rested up, and i still have got to start loading my van up with all my "junk"/necessities taken out of century car, and READ new owner's manual.
so many changes in cars the last 17 years; i feel like a kindergardner just starting school learning what does what in the van. uffda

I have had too sit on a stool ,because of pain and lack of strenght in my legs, but today I did it.
I seem too play better while standing,I don't know why I just do. I am still having a hard time playing and singing at the same time but that is my next goal.
I have such a buid up of lyme that I can not duel task. It is either play or sing. As a writer that is a real drag, but,as long I can keep on doxy and pace myself I think it is a doable goal.

Not able to read what others posted yet, but am looking forward to when I can.
I was out at dawn this am to toilet my dog via my power chair and heard the birds having their dawn meeting...chirping away.
Hoping to be able to get out at that time more often. don't know why but I really like that time of the day when the birds do that and in the evening.
I also went to the post office this am via my reclining power chair and found the book Healing Lyme in my mail box along with a pair of shorts I had ordered from walmart.
The shorts fit. Hurray! and they are soft. Soft was good before lyme but it is even more important with lyme and company.
So, thankful that I finally have the book now.
Next step is for the brain and vision to be working well enough to read it.
Also thankful for the gift of the book. So, thoughtful of the person who ordered it for me.
OK. Now, I am getting up out of bed and seeing if I can do breakfast this am.
Also thankful I was able to take a shower this am.
Clean is good.
