Hello everyone,
I was wondering who out there had this test done and what were your results? I read the archives and found a few posts that were posted last year, but nothing current.
I received my results last week.
I have the 12-3-52B multisuseptable and the chronic lyme 15-6-51
Not a good combo and probably why I still am struggling to get well.
Anyonelse have these and have seen improvements with lyme treatment.
Im still trying to decide if going back on abx will help or hurt me.
Thanks :-)

Read the Mold Warriors book if you have not and the current cover story on www.publichealthalert.org. I had a 4-3-53 (multi) and don't recall the other right off - might have been low MSH. I think the major message here is detox is as important or more important than killing bugs in those of us with biotoxin susceptble genotypes.

I read a lot of mold warriors this weekend. Its tough to absorb all at once though and i will re read it.
my holistic dr belives that Phoscholine helps with detox...but the IV treatment is so expensive. The orals help me somewhat but then iritate my damaged bladder. He also feels the statins have too many side affects.
while on abx i didnt detox at all didnt know much about it.
thanks again

There are lots of detox options. My daughter is on German homeopathics for detoxing, but they are available only through the doctor. She, too, has the dreaded gene. She did an aggressive cholestyramine protocol two years ago, and it did wonders for her. But she can't do it routinely. I'm hoping others will come up with some detox suggestions for you. Try a search on this forum. I know it is a common topic. It is a critical piece.

The July edition of the Public Health Alert will have an article that discusses detoxification as well. It is too large of a topic to cover all of it in one article, but hopefully, it will provide some additional things to consider...

Scott, thanks for that article. Very clear summary of Dr. S' complex theory. I think Lyme patients would benefit from their LLMDs being more informed about his theory, testing, and treatment protocols.
I have a question regarding Dr. S and the HLA genotyping and Lyme treatment that maybe you can answer. Or maybe you have access to Dr. S and can ask him.
I read a post somewhere online, and am trying to confirm from Dr. S, that he said for Lyme patients who have one of the mold-susceptible genotypes according to his theory, he does not recommend penecillin (because penecillin is derived from mold).
This piece of information is not in Mold Warriors; perhaps Dr. S has come to this position since its publication.
This is potentially significant for Lyme patients trying to choose treatment plans. We have many LLMD's prescribing penecillin-based ABX (Bicillin etc.) to patients who may not do well with it because they have a mold susceptible genotype that can be easily tested for before starting the ABX.
Of course Dr. S' theory is just a theory, but if he has clinical experience (based on genotype testing) that causes him to avoid an entire class of antibiotics in a group of Lyme patients, that would be useful information.

very interesting,
Ive had bad experiences with both amoxy and cedax(cephlasporin) and i have the multisuseptable. they didnt do anything for my symptoms just caused me more pain and suffering and it wasnt a herx.
but prior to my illness i could take the penicilling family abx without a problem at all. So maybe like Dr S says in the book my body is now primed for reactions due to my genotype.

I do not have the mold genetypes, but I Do have strong reactions to molds due to several exposures and Lyme disease having triggered my susceptibility.
I do have the Lyme susceptible gene (15-6-51), and the low MSH gene (1-5).
I have done very well on Bicillin, as well as on Omnicef. Dr. S never mentioned to me that I should avoid these drugs. Another doctor told me that they are now synthesized, so are not actually made from real molds anymore, therefore should not cause reactions in someone who is mold sensitive.
I don't know if this is true, and it is only my own experience. FWIW.
BTW, I have been collating results in a doctor's office. Very sick patients commonly have either the Lyme susceptible, the multi-susceptible, or the low MSH gene-types, but can have any of them.
It seems to require both sufficient antimicrobial treatment, and correct detox to get people well. Make sure you follow the testing to make sure your detox methods are taking care of what is needed. Info is given in Mold Warriors.

Here is the response I got back from Dr. S:
This request came through the Mold Warriors site the other day too.
No, the HLA has nothing to do with use or not of antibiotics. The origin of the antibiotic has nothing to do with its biological effects re mold susceptibility. I do not restrict use by mold patients of beer, bread, bleu cheese or anything made from molds/yeast.
