Are there other treatments that I could take other than doxy [and get the effect]? This drug is so harsh on my gut. I dont know how long I can put up with this just to get better.

Have you looked at the responses to your other doxy questions?

Several people mentioned Doryx.
You can do a LymeNet search for previous discussions about it.

Hope that helps.

If you are doing everything suggested in your other 2 threads, and can't get the coated version AND your gut us still so bad...you may have to switch to a different abx. I know I tried all the suggestions (except the coated version...didn't know about that) and I just couldn't deal with it. So, I came off it.

There are other abx you can take and your Dr. woud know what will work best for you, but if you haven't already, perhaps read Burrascano's guidelines and see what fits for you and check it out with your Dr.

Good luck...gut stuff is no fun...

I am not a doctor and can't make any claims, but for myself, I will say that I am doing very well on the herbal product by HEalthy Directions called Bar 1 for bartonella. I have not tried their other lyme formulas but know that htey have others targeted to specific bugs. My LLMD swears by their products.

Are you doing lots of:

Probiotics
Marshmallow root (take separately from medications, about 3 hours apart, see review on www.healthy.net herbal medicine center)
Digestive enzymes
Deglycerinated licorice (DGL)
Chamomile as digestive tract anti-inflammatory
Meadowsweet, ditto (available at Star West Botanicals in CA?) read about it on www.healthy.net or www.christopherhobbs.com

Best wishes, CI
