My 13 year old has lyme and is said he is seeing black spots and having some numbness. I know these are symptoms of lyme but don't know if I need to do something immediately for him--not that an ER would be able to help him....

Sorry to hear about your son being ill. Good to know you are doing what you can to learn and to help him.
Black spots and numbness are symptoms that can happen with Lyme, but I must ask, is he being treated or is he waiting for an appointment?
I don't want to just say those symptoms can happen (which you already know), and leave it at that because spots and numbness could also be symptoms of other ailments. I don't know about his history or where he is on his journey.
My best advise, since I have no clue what is going on, is to say YOU be the judge. As a mother you know him better than anyone. If you feel unsettled and think he may need immediate care, go to the ER. Never hesitate to listen to your gut. Error on the side of caution.
None of us are doctors, only patients and advocates, etc. If it is Lyme related and he is being treated by a health care professional, this may be some more symptoms popping up or a herx perhaps?

We're all different in how we respond to anything; drinking mangosteen juice stops all Lyme eye symptoms for me. It's an anti-inflammatory juice.
I like the Mango-Xan juice variety as it's the most tart. You can find it and others in health food stores and online. If anyone's going to try it, go slowly at first as it can be powerful.

If you stand up and your blood pressure drops, you may see spots as a prelude to fainting. (Sit down quick!)
If you gaze at a blank wall or the sky and see spots, you may have "floaters." These are specks of matter in the eyeball.
Is it one eye or both? Does anything make it worse or improve it?
Regarding the numbness, where does he feel it. If in feet or hands, it may be neurapathy, or nerve damage.
I healed numbness in my feet by taking B complex vitamins. I had numb toes for six weeks, and they improved after the first dose!

- Not knowing if son being treated by a LL ND (naturopathic physician) in state, by a LLMD out of state . . . or have you been able to access and LL doctor at all (sounds like maybe that is the case).
Sadly, your perception of the trouble with ER treatment is likely correct. I've had terrible experiences at various ERs in the state - before I fully understood the hostility toward those with lyme in the Oregon medical system.
Still, there can be other things going on so it's hard to know but certain B vitamins sound like a good start. B12 has some sublingual pellets that melt in the mouth, faster, better absorption.
Good oils also important.
In addition to others' replies, it could be he is describing floaters - and that could be debris "trash" so to speak from the body trying to clear out more than it can handle.
Or it could be something else. An eye exam would be good - just be very careful if anyone wants to give steroids. A LL doctor should advise if an emergency situation.

Some use silver in the eyes ..i may try bee venom drops...resultsrna has a drop with eyebright sorta helps fotosensativity...keebler covered a lot .
.it may be optical nerve ,involvement when i thought cmv was main infection i heard of antiviral drops ..some opthamolgists care ...vision heart ,and brain are nothing to take lightly
