I'm having on-going abmonimal pain and yeast problem for a while, help please. Sorry to say this, but I see blood (either bright red or dark brown) in my yeast, and my OBGYN couldn't help me on that.

Should I check with another OBGYN? Or Internist?

My recent annual OBGYN check-up turned out to be OK (including pap smear), but some areas on my belly began to hurt by touch over the last weekend when my abdominal pain became worse. I feel there are some bumps growing under the skin inside my belly muscle (could be lymph nodes?) I hope it's not something terrible, but this now really bothers me. Can I request x-ray or CT scan on my belly area to make sure there's nothing abnormal growing inside? I'm not sure if my abnominal pain and the bumps are really related to yeast problem...My lyme and co-infections are not backing down, and now I have more problems [Frown]

What type of specialiasts can I turn to for such issue? Do you have any good MDs to recommend in Atlanta and its surrounding areas?

Thanks a lot!!!

Oh no! Bumps inside your belly muscles?

That's one I've not heard before!

Now don't freak.. I am laughing at the description you gave which you must admit.. does sound kinda funny!

But it isn't.. so let's see what we can do about it.

Suggestions...

Contact another ob/gyn. If one can't help you or won't.. you need to find a new one.

Have you tried Dr. B's suggestion of using two 7-day packs of Monistat for the yeast? It is over the counter.

I've learned of a product even better.. in MY opinion. It is a prescription called... Terconazole- 7 day regimen... but you'll need a prescription.

As for the belly bumps.. they could be lymph nodes. And they could be reacting to the overload of yeast infection... if that is what you are experiencing.

There is also a product called "acid jelly"... that changes the PH in that spot to discourage yeast growth... which you may want to ask the doctor about.

As for the blood... I would THINK if you are heavy with the yeast that could occur... or the lymph noses could be depositing their overflow?

I wish I knew more to suggest.. but I was absent the day they taught "girly" things in high school.

Let us know how you do... ok?

One more- might read Dr. Burrascano's Guidelines and review the yeast section. Good info there.

Good luck!

Good info, TC! Yes, I saw those noses! You know you have the teacher following you around!! [Big Grin]

Justag... I agree with what TC told you. Maybe contact another GYN... unless you'd like to call the first one again just in case they will do something for you.

I have lots of yeast issues too. Someone previously posted this and I tried it...

Mix plain yogourt with an emptied capsule of probiotic and put it on a tampon and wear overnight. Works like a hot damn.

Is your diet squeaky clean with no sugar or carbs?

Hey J-Tag,

If you want a RX there is Gynazole-1
(butoconazole nitrate 2%), it used to be over the counter and went by the mane Fem-Stat.

For myself I haven't found it for a few years and now it is only available by RX, go figure.

Now for a cheap and quite effective remedy buy powered Boric Acid at the local drugstore, get size 00 capsules.

Fill the caps and insert in vagina, 1 cap in am, 1 cap in pm. Use until symptoms go away.

Do not use this remedy by mouth!!!! This would be poision!!! [tsk] [tsk] [tsk]

Only use as a vag insert!!!

Unless you are allergic to boric acid, I've found this to have immediate and quick results.

No burning pain like the darn Monistat.

Again this is what helped me the most and I do not know you medical situation. I read this rx in the book 'Our Bodies, Ourselves' http://www.ourbodiesourselves.org/
over 20yrs ago and it has been discussed here on the board. Do a search.

It's cheap, effective and no need to depend on a white coat to give you a script!

Hi Justag,

Are you on a good probiotic? My llmd recommends I take 2 caps AM and 2 caps PM of theralac. You can buy it here
www.theralac.com it is expensive but she says the best.
AND 2 caps AM 2 caps PM sacchrromyces boulardii. You can buy this at a health food store.

When I was very first being treated for lyme, I thought I was taking a probiotic for vag yeast, of which I had had problems with pre-lyme.

However, intestional yeast is a real bugger. Also I had a bout of c. diff colitis, that could have been avoided had I been on enough of a good probiotic. (that was a fun ER visit)

Also, you might want to look up intestinal dysbiosis.

AND make sure that you are having regular bowel movements. With lyme dye off, yeast and other bacteria, it is real important that it does not sit around in there too long.

I take over the counter miralax.

Bumps on your tummy.... lymph nodes? Or Perhaps an alien. Nothing would suprise me with the things I have had come out!

Good luck! Keep us posted.
Von

When my abdominal pains went on too long, my PCP did an abdominal ultrasound. Then I also had a GYN ultrasound.

Mine turned out to be ovarian cysts. Don't know that this is your case, since it sounds like your pain is in a different spot. But, the ultrasound did at least pinpoint the problem.
