I was diagnosed (clinical) by my PCP (who also specializes in infectious disease) approx. 5 weeks ago.
He prescribed me Doxy, 100 mg, to capsule twice a day. I finished the month just prior to my next appt. with him.
He did a blood test on me for Lyme (western blot) and tested for several other things. He did not advise me to continue to take the Doxy, though there is a refill on the bottle.
I did explain to him that I thought that I herxed quite a bit; and he said that it should be expected. But still didn't require that I continue to take the Doxy.
I have an appt. with an LLMD in the first week of April. I still suffer every day and don't want to wait that long to treat for Lyme.,
Most of my symptoms appear to be neuro; severe tinnitus, ear/head pressure, blurry vision in my right eye, knee pain, and it seems like I have some sort of heart thing going on too.
He did make an appt. for me to get an EKG, but I am not happy to just wake up every day and feel like I am dying. I believe that I should be getting some type of treatment.
Can anyone please advise me if you think I should refill the Doxy and start taking it, and should I take 2 a day, or maybe 3?
Thanking you in advance for any responses!!

Do you have enough to last awhile if you take two a day? The recommended dosage in order to be effective in killing lyme is 400mg per day. (that would be 4)

I will only have 60, because the original RX was for 2 capsules a day. I did refill it today, but haven't started taking it yet.
It is really a shame that one has to take their health into their own hands because of our wonderful medical system.
I give him credit for even listening to me and for being open minded enough to do a clinical diagnosis; but I need more than one month's worth of guidance.
