Last year I had a red splotch in my eye a number of times but this year only once. I presume it's from a broken capillary but it's obviously lyme related and it happens when my head is pressured. This time it happened the same day I had allergy tests and I believe that was causal as well as lyme and I was reacting to the test. I also got a cold sore about the same time.

My friend is insisting I go to an eye doc. I'd rather skip that since I think that treating lyme is the best thing to do. Any ideas about what is causing this and whether I should go to an eye doc?

Tough to give advice on something like this. I have had this too, probably just a couple times, and went pretty quickly.

For things that are lyme related, I will ignore them if it's not affecting my quality of life and it's not serious. But how to know if it's not serious? I'd get more concerned as you keep having the situation. I personally don't know what is going on with that, to know if it could turn into a serious problem.

I got another red splotch in my eye. Any other input on this? I have an appointment with an ND next week and will discuss it with him but medical people here aren't that familiar with lyme effects.

My son gets these. One time he got one on the day of an LLMD appointment. His LLMD seems to think it is lyme causing it... perhaps the pressure in the brain too. Do you have fuzzy vision? My son has fuzzy vision too... and floaters.

Toxic mold was suppressing our immune systems, causing extreme pain, brain fog and magnifying symptoms. Four days after moving out, the healing began.

Ocular issues are common with Lyme and also really common with a bunch of other conditions that include arthritis.

This link has an excellent article and chart about Lyme and eyes, including uveitis and episcleritis in late stage lyme.

Definitely discuss it with your LLMD. My son had lots of eye inflammation... appeared to be a kind of herx during his first six months of treatment.

This has been ongoing since the start of me about a year and a half. Floaters general eye redness itchy eye feelings blurry vision and random really red eye splotches that come and go.

I saw an eye doctor 3 months ago my doc wanted to rule out any eye damage.

My eyes are 20/20 and perfectly fine said the eye doc....LOL
