LLMD suggested starting vancomycin. I told her I would like to take some time to think about it before jumping in.
WHat is an appropriate dose? What has been your experience with this medication? What about cost (she said it was expensive) but it can't be more expensive than cefdinir ($307.00)?
Just wondering what to do. I also take Doxy, flagyl, cefdinir, rifimpin...not sure if I want to add vancomycin to the mix.

OMG, that's a brutal mix of drugs and then to add that? She must be one big medication bomber. Are you better because of all that?

I took vancomycin for months and months - for C. Diff. I took it orally - and it stays in the gut to treat C. Diff or other types of bacterial dysbiosis.
Is your LLMD advocating for IV vanco? I do think it's expensive, but very effective from what I've read.
Not sure that oral vanco would be terribly effective on Lyme though, as it's not systemic. So you must be going the IV route?
You might want to check the Burrascano guidelines on the topic, I think he addresses vanco and the effective route of administration and dosage.
(It's been a while, so I could be wrong about oral vs IV.)
