Why would my vitamin B6 level be twice the upper limit of normal? I don't take any kind of supplementation. No dx yet, but should have labs back by end of this week. MD seems to think I have this based on symptoms plus brain lesions (having ruled out other causes of brain lesions).

This could be the cause of A LOT of your symptoms. I remember reading about this a few days ago.

My LLMD said this is common with Lymies. I take B complex plus daily but reduced it from twice to once per day from the B6.

fatherguido, Are you serious? Your LLMD says an elevated B6 is common in Lyme? Did your MD say why or can you elaborate? I just learned something new. I expect I should hear by the end of this week my lab results, but a lot of things sure seem to be adding up

ok this is weird. My Vitamin B-12 keeps coming up extremely elevated. I do NOT supplement, do NOT take a multi-vit and DO NOT EAT MEAT. Total vegetarian!!! I should be LOW in B-12....not off the charts high. Not one doctor can tell me WHY!!!

I'm not sure what my B6 levels are, but my B12 levels were sky high, too, and nobody ever figured out why. Apparently leukemia and liver problems can elevate it though, and according to the article below, B12 supplementation wouldn't cause B12 elevations anyway...
I know I had some sort of liver 'lesion' in the past which, of course, doctors treated as nothing. My stools too are almost always the color of either brown mustard, or more recently, sweet potatoes, which I thought could indicate liver issues...I certainly feel toxic. In fact, my B12 levels were sky high when I wasn't eating any animal products whatsoever...I was 100% vegetarian, too.

Steve, thank you for the link but I don't think I am understanding the big picture as to the relationship between Lyme and vitamin B6. If you understand it, can you please explain it to me?

My vitamin B12 is quite normal. Vitamin D is at the low end of normal. The B6 is 42 (3-21). I find a lot of information on low B6 but not much out there on elevated B6, other than it seems to have neurological ties. I never eat breakfast cereal and don't eat baked goods. I haven't had much taste for sweets since all this started 18 months ago. Now I tend to swing the other way toward salty foods, something I NEVER did before this started.
