My daughter was dx with Lyme, Mycoplasma, possible Babesia, Bartonellaa year ago in April.
Since that time she has been taking Azith, Mino, Tindamax 2 days week and various supplements to include Milk Thistle, Magnesium/Calcium Calm powder, B-6 Standard Process (with bovine liver) probiotics, raw multi and raw iron.
She started complaining of sharp stabbing pain under her rib cage on right side. She says it's below the breast and only hurts when she is walking or running. This has been going on for a month.
I am getting a bit concerned, does anyone have some insight? Forever grateful for you all,

Hi Cassie This needs to be checked out with a doctor.
THe right side (beneath the ribcage) makes me think of the liver, but keep in mind that I am a layperson and not a doctor, and cannot diagnose. I could be way "off".
Iron headsup: My acupuncturist said that it's only advisable for menstruating women, and that in fact it is somewhat toxic. I just read an article by Dr Mercola saying that it can lead to cancer if in excess. A child may not need the supplement? This is only a question to ask your doctor, not medical advice.
Perhaps see how she responds to dried fruit and other things to keep her iron levels optimal, this would be less toxic.
Good that she is doing milk thistle.To be effective, milk thistle should be standardized to 80% silymarin and of course should be grown and processed under ideal conditions. The brands in the healthfood stores are usually pretty good, fyi.

A very good liver "Cooling" formula by GAIA Herbs is called Milk Thistle Yellow Dock (in an alchohol base, so a child may not like it, but a teenager may tolerate the taste??) Wishgarden Herbs has excellently-formulated herbs for children, google them.

It can be stomach pain radiation there.Also gastrointestinal pain from cysts of lyme and bart.And lyme favorite thing is to eat fibrogen in ribs and elswere like trachea ,joints and so on.

I have upper right quadrant pain and the best thing I have found is to have two to three fiber drinks with psillium per day and apple pectin. this is what I think happens The bugs that seem to love my liver gallbladder and ribs go get food when I eat and the antibiotics kill them and the endotoxins get bound up with the fiber and apple epectin and excreted, I also use warm compress of flannel soaked in castor oil at night, and until I got c diff was doing coffee enemas (I know that sounds gross) but it opens the liver and dumps the bile and everything out and would relieve the pain. When I couldn't take the pain I woudl take some old percocet I had leftover from ankle surgery years ago. I also found accupuncture and massage with reiiki helped...Hope some of these ideas help. It could be the GB too-I had all the tests for that which proved fruitless.Seems unlikely in a child but you might have to travel both paths for a while the GB diagnostic and the lyme..thats what I did. Hope she is feeling better soon.

That sounds like where the gallbladder is located. I would have a doctor check her out. But lyme can also give you rib pain although it is in the rib, not under it.
