My daughter is experiencing numbness in her hands while taking flagyl - one of the many effects she is getting while taking this drug. Has anyone experienced this and will it go away on it's own? I told the LLMD yesterday about it.. She was having sever pains in her arms/legs and chest pains yesterday... but the numbness is still there and the headaches.... He cut her dose down to one pill, but I'm sure it will take several days to feel that cutdown. Wanted to know who experienced this, for how long and what you did about it. Thank you!

Numbness/ neuropathy are potential side effects from flagyl. If they do not get better with the lower dose then you may want to ask your doctor for a different medicine.

Vitamin B6, B12, and folic acid can help prevent and treat neuropathy symptoms. You can get these individually at the health food store or together as RX Metanx.

Myself and another patient I know both got neuropathy from Flagyl and it is seems to be partially permanent.

We both had the same experience...improvement as soon as we discontinued the Flagyl but an incomplete improvement. A year post treatment, she still has numbness and minimal sensation in her fingers. I still get very cold and numb in my right foot and a few fingers on my right hand.

It is the ONLY thing my "mainstream" doctors were right about...to be careful with Flagyl.

Wow, thanks migs and Sammy! Doc stopped the flagyl today and switched to another antibiotic and added Grapefruit Seed Extract.. Hope the new combo works..
