I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas....I just found a tick on me last night...I AM SO UPSET!!!

I am afraid of reinfection. I have been off abx for months ...just taking vitamins and supplements.

I have an appointment with my LLMD in 2 weeks and dont really want to call him on the weekend but I am afraid to wait until Monday (if there is anything I can be doing now)

It wasnt attached but for several hours (but we all know how that goes).

I have been FREAKING out and I AM SO AFRAID of getting sick again!

Does anyone have ANY suggestions on what I should do or look for.

I also have the co-infections of Bart and Babasia

Thanks for any advice

I would call your LLMD and get on antibiotics. If you don't want to call on the weekend, just call first thing Monday. I think it will be fine if you can get started on antibiotics by Monday.

My aunt was bitten by a tick and got sick about 5 days later. She started antibiotics within a few days and took them for about 3 weeks and she was fine.

I have read stories of the spirochete being in the blood and diseminating quickly. I would try to obtain and start Doxy sooner rather than later.

I waited to see how I would feel following a tick bite while in remission.

It took about 10 days to feel like I'd been run over by a truck.

Had to see my LLMD. Was diagnosed with Acute Lyme.

I found another attached tick a few months ago, again while in remission.

Called my LLMD the same day and started antibiotics.

He agreed that I should be proactive versus reactive.

Good news is that it goes quickly.

Hugs,

Geneal

I was bitten again about 6 mo after going off abx which I had been on for 4 long years. I totally freaked. Called my LLMD... got on doxy that day. Nine days later I felt like Geneal said.. like a truck had run over me.

Got well in about 2 months!! [Smile]

Well, if you haven't called your LLMD yet, you should do it ASAP tomorrow am. And get on abx PDQ. But for future reference, this is worth an emergency call on the weekend! Unless you have your LLMD rx extra doxy to have on hand in case of getting bitten again.

I made an emergency call to my LLMD's on Memorial Day 2 years ago after getting bitten again. And, in spite of already being on tx and getting doxy within a few days, I still had a horrible relapse! Which was in part because I wasn't on anything for Babesia, and got exposed to that again : - ( Hopefully, you'll be fine with tx.
