When I was pregnant w/ my first son I tested negative for the strep B test that they do at the end of pregnancy.

I tested positive in my 2nd pregnancy.

Now that recent tests have come back indicate I have issues w/ parasites I wondered if there is at all a link between the two? Just wondered if that was a first clue that I had an issue or if it is totally not related.

Any thoughts?

Anybody?? Just really curious if when I tested positive for strep B with my son if it was a sign that I had some other parasite stuff going on or if it is totally unrelated?

Do you have Lyme? It seems like when someone has one infection, they normally have a few. Like when a person has Lyme, often they'll also have viruses come back positive, strep, etc. It could be true for strep too.

What parasites specifically are you talking about? GI parasites? Was this a stool test? GI parasites may be unrelated to things like strep, if I had to guess, but who knows really. Because you are talking infections in your gastrointestinal tract vs. strep which is systemic, meaning in blood, etc. GI is kind of a different ball game, from what I gather.

Strep can be positive sometimes and then be negative a month later. So you can't tell much if you are basing this on when you were pregnant.

Hope some of those thoughts help.

Yes, I was diagnosed w/ lyme and bart at the end of Dec 2010.

Recently I found out I tested positive for parasites, mycoplasma, yeast overgrowth and heavy metal toxicity. The parasites/yeast overgrowth was tested from a stool sample.

There is a test toward the end of pregnancy that tests for Strep B. When I was pregnant in 2007 w/ my first son I tested negative. When I tested in 2009 w/ my 2nd son it was positive.

Shepbud--did you have your children before or after your diagnosis?

I know it is common for women to test positive for it at the end of pregnancy. Just curious though now that I have found out that I have an issues w/ parasites that particular test from 2 years ago could have been an indication or if it is totally unrelated?

Maybe I am not really making much sense here! I am just trying to connect pieces of the puzzle but this may be a far stretch! Thanks for your response!
