Primarily, what is the current standard of care?
I've been in this mess for almost a few years now and have learned a lot and got a lot better but still hear information ranging from hopeful to interesting to straight up crazy and/or ridiculous.
Since I've been sick we've seen Tigecycline become an alternative, cycling become far more common, Cure Unknown turn some onto high dose Ceftin, Telithromycin all but disappear (even after Burrascanno wrote about it's benefits in his 2008 Guidelines). LDN has basically come and gone. We've also again seen the massively respected Dr. D in Mass call his treatment "curative". We also have 2 "above ground" Dr. Js fight legal battles and still treating long term but VERY differently.
I'm on the West Coast and have little contact with other Lyme victims. To those of you in the Lyme hotbeds with you fingers really on the pulse, what are people doing and what is working and what is not??

I am sending this information about two "big news" from our UNH Lyme Disease Research Group.
1. The first one is that our "big paper" got published this week and it had already received a lot of very positive feedbacks. The main message from the paper is that antibiotics do not kill all forms of Borrelia, the Lyme Disease bacteria. The previous studies only looked at one form and when we looked at all 3 different forms of this bacterium we have found that main antibiotics used in Lyme disease are capable eliminating all the forms. 2. The second big announcement is that we have our UNH conference on May 21st 2011. It will be a half day program dedicated to present the latest findings of our research group. We have 2 guests: two very famous Lyme Disease Physicians: Drs. Charles R Jones and Joseph Burrascano
