The girls brought me back...haha, just kidding.
Tutu, thanks for remembering me.
In the past two year I went away from lymenet to try to find a cure for my disease and hoped when I werenback I would bring some good news for curing lyme. Unfortunately, no luck and recently my symptoms seemed worsen by re-bitten or relapse? don't know. But the good news is I am still alive to see the girls again.

I concur! I have a friend who is Mexican and even she wouldn't set foot there right now. If you're a white man traveling alone do be careful! I'm not kidding either.

Girls, thanks for your concerns. So I should go to a vacation place for Americans?

Much of Mexico is pretty peaceful. A colleague of mine spent the summer in Oaxaca and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, from what I hear, peaceful does not the border towns. You don't need a prescription to buy antibiotics there but, I have read here, do need one to bring the meds back into to the U.S. Many pharmacies have a doctor on site so that should not be too big a challenge.

I've been to Mexicali and Tijuana several times. It is safe enough if you just get in a cab and get the guy to tour you around to the pharmacies. At the smaller pharmacies, you can buy anything without a prescription and if they speak English you can ask them to order you stuff they don't have. One pharmacist in Tijuana was from San Diego and spoke perfect English. He said he could order me Rocephin bags or any IV meds I wanted no problem but to give him a few days notice.
Don't go to Tijuana late though. I went to Gusher in the middle of the night and it was sketchy. I was herxing really bad so my sleep was screwed up and I was in a haze. I felt very uncomfortable and the immigration guys thought I was a mule. They ran a bunch of my bicillin vials and other meds through their machines. Gusher was open all night but they are a big box pharmacy that will ask for prescriptions for antibiotics, depending on who is working.
Some drugs aren't cheap there but most are.

My friends from Oceanside decided to take a drive south across the border to Tijunaan for some seafood.
While enjoying his meal w/ his buddy... they WATCHED their car being dismantled in broad daylight! They didn't dare claim their car at that point! I don't blame them. That was one expensive cab ride home!! I don't think they went back for seafood after that!!
Another couple from Carlsbad got their RV broke into and they stole everything inside. Then they took turn raping the woman while they made her husband watch. This is no joke! Go at your own risk. As I said my friends who are Mexicans won't even set foot over the border right now if you pay them!

Being from Texas, I can tell you that scorpio is completely right. VERY dangerous even in the daytime.

It was not this bad 5 years ago. I am guessing the drug wars going on there is pretty bad right now. Sometimes gangs fight in the middle of day and people are stuck inside... maybe we just know about it more b/c we're next to the border and we have friends w/ family there? I don't know but I would be scared to go right now.

Thanks, girls. I won't insist. I may order online if it's possible. I remember one site doesn't require prescription, but never tried
