I am 2 months into treating and my head, neck, shoulders and back are killing me. When I first started ABX I asked my hubby if he tried to strangle me in my sleep because that's how I felt. My neck and throat were sore, kind of felt like whiplash too. This kind of came and went in intensity.
2 days ago it got worse, it all feels really tight, hard to turn head and it is more like actual pain instead of mostly sore. My lymph nodes in neck are more swollen than usual too (some are always swollen).
Just wondering if this is a herx? And what will help it? I had hubby rub me down with Tiger Balm last night, that seemed to help some.

Those were my initial symptoms. Bad headaches, sore stiff neck and shoulders. Had all that for 8 years.
Now 2.5 years into treatment my headaches are mostly gone. Neck is stiff at times but rarely sore.
Did you have these symptoms before treating and they are just getting worse with treatment so far or are they new since treatment started?

I know mine got really stiff when I first began treatment... so for me it was a herx.
Got better with time/treatment. I feel for you! How about a massage or acupuncture?

I would guess it's a herx. My daughter has this same pain when she's herxing.

I had it off and on before treatment, it would last for days/weeks. I would tell my PCP it felt like I had whiplash or being strangled. Since I started treatment when it comes it slams into me and is much worse.
The pain is actually waking me up at night. I know it will go away, just not fast enough for me. Thanks for your replies, it helps to know I;m not alone or crazy (well that one's debatable).

This happened to me when treating with A-Bab ... I considered it a
herx since it resolved when I ramped down the dosage and or
stopped it to give myself a break ... and came back when I went
back on it again ... then again it could be an inability to detox the
die off efficiently ... maybe taking some kind of binder to help move
the die off out of the body would help ?
I applied ice packs to my neck when I went to bed and also tried
the tiger balm ... both helped a little ... in the daytime I could
only function if I took painkillers ( which I hated to do ) ...
perhaps epsom salt baths would also help eliminate the toxins ?

I would insist on binders to detox.

I'm only taking tetracycline and diflucan. What are binders? (I know, I can search them...) It is so bad today I can't turn my head, and the muscles are not only really tight, they are on fire.
My temp is a little up for me at 99*, my usual is 96-97*. My chest is getting tight too, I think from all my other muscles being tight.
I am going to do a bath in a bit, maybe that will help. Thank you.
