I am taking Doxy (hyclate) and am having stomach upset and heartburn. what other antibiotics are effective at treating lyme? (I did take doxy mono last month and had same things but just continued to take it but I want something different now, the heartburn pain isn't worth it.)

Are you using Acidophilus either in capsule form or are you consuming a lot of yogert?
No matter what antibiotic you are taking, you should be.
Ditto on taking it with meals.
I have found that most antibiotics can cause stomach upset to some point.
I'm currently on flagyl to combat an antibiotic induced gastritis.
I was on Augentin which is an ABT that I generally tolerate without upset but I went without my acidophilus for a few days and bingo!
Frankly, I won't do any ABT without it.
Saves a multitude of headaches.

thanks, I am eating yogurt(not a lot, one container a day) but will get some acidophilus pills...my thyroid meds have acidohilus as a filler but I'm thinking it's probably not enough.

My LLMD switched me from Doxy to Doryx, which is basically the same thing but has a coating or something so it's easier on the stomach. I did better on it, but then my pharmacy stopped carrying it and I couldn't find another that had it. So, she switched me to Minocyclene.
