I'm only on Mepron and Zith and I can't believe how I'm feeling. My doc said I could take a day or two off-

Kinda dizzy, sweaty, anxiety-like, difficulty getting a full breath, all that. Very flu-like too.

Any input? it's not an allergic reaction, I think it's just hitting me so hard and I'm having trouble tolerating it!!

I remember that.

I read recently that Mepron also hits toxoplasmosis. I wonder how many of us have that too?

Thx! I never thought of toxoplasmosis. The question is: how do you all get through this? It's torture! (and I'm doing all the detoxing!)

When I was pregnant with my last child, my gyn called me and said I tested positive for toxo. Apparently they test for it when you are pregnant. I didn't get this call with the first pregnancy.

I was extremely upset and when I went in for my next appointment they told me it was a past infection. Strange that they would've bothered to call me. Never thought about it again until I read the article the other day. It was an Atlantic Monthly article.

It was this gyn that always discounted my symptoms though I had over 10. He said all my symptoms were caused by motherhood, added weight, and age. F*** him and the horse he rode in on.

Yes, it did. I guess it hit the Babesia, which I did test positive for. Haven't recently tested for toxo and now doubt I ever will since it's a non-issue.

Be sure to detox and take silymarin or glutithione, whatever the doc puts you on.

When you get to the light at the end of the tunnel, you will be amazed at the difference.

It's killing it (good thing). Artemisinin helps make it easier.

Hi there,

How long have you been taking it? I was wondering when I should expect a herx. I started Mepron/Zith today and im terrified. I was told you have to get worse before better, and my main symptom is crushing air hunger. Im so scared that if it gets WORSE ill suffocate to death. Im a wuss, and im very scared. Any advice would be lovely.

@jackie51, I didn't realize you could take Milk Thistle with Mepron. My liver enzymes were slightly elevated the last time, did anyone else take MT?? Yup, taking the liposomal glut, but the effects don't last long. Wow, I can't wait to feel better.. thx!

@Catgirl- My LLMD prefer Cryptolepsis which I haven't started yet. He used to use Artmisinin.. maybe I'll ask him again. I know Art is hard on the liver.

@Toboein- I had to stop after a mth or so because my liver enzymes were elevated so re-started. I had to build up to the 'regular' dose and truthfully it's very very rough. but I've been sick a very very long time. I hear 'ya about the air-hunger thing, many times I've been afraid to go to sleep thinking I might stop breathing.. but.. well.. here I am. [Smile] Best of luck, keep us posted!
