I started taking Lugol's a few months ago hoping it would help me get off the thyroid meds eventually. So far it hasn't.
I had REALLY good results with it. I was still having a little bit of trouble with digestion, and it compeltely resolved the trouble I was having. I now no longer have to take HCL unless I eat a big meal with lots of stuff I don't normally eat (like when I eat out).
It caused some detoxification, too. So go SLOWLY!!
I take ONE DROP per day!!

Hmm ... Not sure what you're asking about. I havent read the whole thread in awhile. I just had it bookmarked.
People were taking iodine to combat the radiation exposure in Japan. Maybe that's what they were talking about?

I started this about 3 weeks ago with no side effects. I'm at 50-70 mgs per day. Maybe I'm not iodine deficient.....I'm just taking it to see if it makes a difference and I can't tell a thing.
But if it benefits me or kills parasites or bacteria, then it's worth it!

It depends on the person, but I think it's always best to start slow. There's no harm in starting with just 1 drop a day for a week or two, then increasing it to 2 drops a day to see how that goes.
I think Dr Brownstein says that most people should be taking between 12.5 and 50mg a day. That would be between 2 and 8 drops of 2% Lugol's.
It's good for thyroid, yes, but many other things too.
