LLMD is suggesting I talk with pshyc. about changing from celexa to cymbalta. that it may help more with mood and pain.

I have been on celexa successfully (no bad side effects) for 10 years- before lyme dx---fairly low dose.

Have any of you switched from one SSRI to Cymbalta and noticed improvement?

did you have to do anything like a taper to switch?

love to hear your experiences.

When I got on Cymbalta, I felt my mood was better, but I was loosing weight very rapidly which ultimately led to me getting off. I lost 10lbs in a week and am already slim.

Hope it helps you! Best of luck.

I've been on both Cymbalta and Celexa.

I would strongly caution against taking Cymbalta. While it did help with my sciatica pain, I started having instense side effects and it was HELL to get off of.

I tapered off very slowly, and still had side effects for months after it was out of my system: electrical "zaps" in my head, lightheadedness, nausea, etc.

It's also on the FDA drugs to watch warning list:

Just Google "Cymbalta withdrawl," and you'll see tons of stories like mine.

Have you ever tried Lexapro? It's helped me tremendously without the side effects of other SSRIs.

Good luck!
