Zithromax by itself is not really a good drug for lyme and company. It's great when used in combination with other abx though.

We had success with it until ear issues started happening and had to discontinue. Just like any drug, it can have unwanted side effects.

I just took a month of azithromycin and I made some progress on it. Wish I cud keep taking it but side effects of stomach pain and diarrhea stops me. (I also can't take erythromycin for same reason)

Wasn't taking anything with it.

I took it along with two other abx. The first several weeks I felt nauseous and tired, but it wasn't too bad.

thanks everyone, I've only been using one week. today I have a terrible headache that started yesterday. it's the kind that I woke up with and will go to bed with.

Not sure if that'd be herx from zith or not, when I herxed on flagyl, it felt like the flu..terrible body aches and pain.

I've taken Zithro and it was like taking water, but so were many other ABX for me.

My daughter and niece have taken Zithro as well, no herxing for them either, only getting better.

Funny how Zithro and Biaxin works better for children. I believe because of their low weight, that it has a more punch. If we increased adult dosages it would have a bigger punch on Lyme.

For instance I was given 1G of Biaxin, meanwhile another lady who was half my weight had been given 2G, along with higher dosages of other ABX and eventually got well.

It's often paired with mepron or artemisinin for babesia.

I took it twice: once with Mepron and once with Doxy. It is very mild for me. No herxing and no significant improvement either.
