Hi, I read on another thread about Thorne brand Curcumin. I am currently using Gaia.
Do you have brands you like?

I like Pure Encapsulations because it does not have any fillers (like nasty magesium stearate, etc.)

For pure curcumin, I like Lee Silsby "Enhansa". But I like Xymogen's "Nrf2 Activator", which contains curcumin and some others, much much better.

I get bulk turmeric powder at the healthfood store and put it in a capsule. I think that's a pretty cheap way to go.

Faithful, is it the regular or the Meriva from Thorne?
Tutu, I like NOW products.

We gave my Mom "Tumeric Force" by New Chapter - a concentrate. Not exactly cheap, but I think it helped her.

I LOVE the NOW brand! No gluten, no yeast, no &^%$!!
I tried Turmeric Force .. not as effective for ME as the Curcumin. Turmeric Force has other stuff in it. It's not all turmeric.

Has anyone seen (1)an improvement from using the curcumin? (2) seen a drop in platelet count using curcumin? (3) had side effects from using curcumin? (4) how much do you take?
Thanks, Timaca

I have less pain while taking curcumin. I have an EXTREMELY sensitive stomach and it was made worse by some recent prescriptions.... so I had to stop the Curcumin for awhile.
I am now back on it. I'm only taking one capsule per day. I'm making sure my stomach is OK first. I had been taking 2 and even 3 per day. (655mg, I believe).
I had no other side effects and some reports show that it is GOOD for the digestive tract.
I don't know anything about platelet counts. I've taken Curcumin for 2-3 yrs and don't know about any negative blood work over the years.

Thanks for that info Lymetoo.
Curcumin is likely lots cheaper than the Tumeric Force as well.

I also have had less pain since taking it consistently(1-2 times a day) when I tried at first I thought it upset my stomach...but who really know since we take so much. This time I started after I had been on this set of abx for a month... Since I have started I have less joint and muscle pain, and amazingly, my always soft/liquid bowel movements have been much better.
I am excited by this, as I cannot take any anti-inflammatory drugs. And all my inflammation markers are high.
But I have also been taking Epicor, an immune modulator, also supposed to help regulate inflammation.
